Disney Characters Decorate Disneyland Park Through the Years

posted on December 22nd, 2009 by Heather Hust Rivera, Senior Manager, Corporate Communications, The Walt Disney Company

You told us a couple weeks ago that you wanted to see more historical photos, but what about video? Do you want to see more video from our archives? Let us know in the comments.

Today we have video of holiday decorations at Disneyland park from the ‘60s through the ‘80s. Take a look at the Christmas trees from different years. Can you imagine what it takes to flock a tree of that size?

I particularly like the tradition of Disney characters helping dress up Disneyland park for the holidays. It makes sense to me that Mickey and Donald decorate their home just like we decorate ours.

What do you think?

Amazing video! Great job and keep those historic videos coming. It’s so great that Disney Co. has finally realized they can have a meaningful, fun and intelligent conversation with its fan base via the Disney Parks Blog. Combined with the advances made by D23 on the same front, 2009 has been a banner year for us fans!

Best regards,

Yes, more old and obscure videos please! I’m sure there’s a treasure trove of stuff no one has seen before and that we couldn’t get elsewhere!

Heather dear, you never did get back to us on the quiz you set up earlier in December about how many Christmas Trees and such were at Disneyland. Care to return and fill us in? But, a very Merry Christmas to you!
