Diamonds for Disney

Disney's Boardwalk

Hi everyone…I wanted to share some quick news that six Disney resorts made the 2010 AAA Four Diamond lodgings list – one for the very first time. Disney’s BoardWalk Inn joined five other Walt Disney World Resort hotels: Disney’s Beach Club Resort, a winner for seven years; Disney’s Contemporary Resort, three years; Disney’s Polynesian Resort, three years; Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, 19 years, and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, 21 years.

The American Automobile Association annually evaluates more than 60,000 lodging establishments and rates them on a scale of one to five Diamonds.

The Poly will always be my favorite resort, not just in WDW, but the entire world.

Ive stayed at the Grand Floridian, for my honeymoon. We actually married at Disney’s wedding pavilion (with the castle in the background)..PERFECT. :)
But it truly deserves to be a AAA Four Diamond resort. Its an amazing place.

The Boardwalk is a great resort, very deserving of this.

Wow!! Very excited to hear the good news for the Boardwalk Inn. We are booked to stay in club level in December of this year. We were already super excited! We’ve stayed at CB and WL but this time we wanted to be close to Epcot. We knew Boardwalk was nice but this confirms it!

First DVC home was the Boardwalk — it is beautiful & holds a special place with us!

We’ve stayed at the Boardwalk Villas twice and we’re hooked! Nothing beats being a 10 minute walk to Epcot. We love to pop in at night to walk around the countries or see Reflections.
The kids love the pool and the Keister Coaster.
Great place!

No surprise on BoardWalk being added, but I am shocked that Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge isn’t on this list. It has to rank as one of the best hotels anywhere — truly something special!

Totally agree on the Disney wedding. Married there in the wedding pavilion 2/04. Magical. Our wedding night we were giving the presidential Suite of the Beach Club!!! GORGOUS!!!!

Congrats to the staff at all those resorts, they really do an incredible job.
Shame though no one really remembers the only 13 diamond hotel right over at Hollywood Studios.
I remember reading about how the Hollywood Tower Hotel was the only hotel to ever be awarded a 13 diamond rating :)

I am a THRILLED DVC owner. We visit twice a year. I have stayed at Boardwalk, and agree it is WONDERFUL! We are staying at the Beach Club in April 2010 and I CAN’T WAIT! Thank you AAA for confirming something my family already knew, DISNEY WORLD ROCKS! PS. Another family favorite is Wilderness Lodge!

What took them so long to recognize the Boardwalk? Shame on them. Favorite resort anywhere.

I did a (VERY) short stint at the Boardwalk in Housekeeping this past Summer. It was a 3-Diamond resort last year, and their goal was to up that to the 4-Diamond. I am happy to see their hard work paid off, and added another resort to the premiere list!
