You’d never know it about me, but I like cars. I’ve been to the Daytona 500 … and loved it. When I met my husband, he drove a ‘63 split window Corvette. I grew up going to “cruises” on Saturday nights with my dad in his muscle cars. And, I know what a Hemi is. So, it’s a dream come true that you can now build a one-of-a-kind remote control race car and bring it to life at Ridemakerz, a new custom toy car shop that opened today at Downtown Disney.
This high-octane experience houses full-size hot rods, plus fire engines, racecars, dump trucks with more than 649 million combinations to trick them out. The fun revs up at Downtown Disney West Side in the old Virgin Megastore venue. Please check back for video of the grand opening today.
UPDATE: New video has been added below from the Ridemakerz opening.

This looks amazing! Now for the scary question…What is the average price for one of these beauties?

We were at Disneyland last year when they just opened this store and my son had a great time building his own car. When we were at Disneyland earlier this month we went back and my husband and I built our own cars so we can have family races. Finally something focused on boys at Downtown Disney (I have two boys). We love this store. The average price is about $20-then you can upgrade to a remote control car and all the extra goodies then making it go up to about $60. Just like Build-a-Bear with all the little extras.
