Last week, we shared news that “Lotso” (short for Lots-O’-Huggin’ Bear) will be a new face at Disney Parks before his appearance in Disney•Pixar’s “Toy Story 3″ this summer. Well, the bear “who loves to hug” is here. He hasn’t been seen in public – at least until now. Don’t ask us how we got our hands on this video…just enjoy a first look:
Beginning May 9, “Lotso” will be greeting Guests at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in the meet-and-greet area inside The Magic of Disney Animation and he’ll be part of the “Block Party Bash.” He will also be joining “Disney’s Pixar Play Parade” at Disney’s California Adventure. Let us know when you spot him.

Is he going to be available for pictures at DCA or just in the pixar parade? I want a picture WITH him, not just one of him in the parade!!!

I was just wondering earlier when/ if he would be coming to the parks. And I agree Jessica. I wonder if he will. I was at the Disney Store earlier today and they had the stuffed animal Lots O’ Huggin Bear that actually did smell like it (sort of). Though I would think that that if he did smell like it, it would smell more like berries then the ones at the Store.

I saw him in the Pixar Play Parade at California Adventure! He rides in the same toy truck that he has in the Toy Story 3 trailer.

Very cute, but y’know, I’m having a hard time trusting him. I think I’m having flashbacks to the friendly miner from Toy Story 2 (Stinky, was it? Blanking on the name, but Kelsey Grammer did the voice). But if Lotso was any kind of a villain, would they be featuring him so much in parades and whatnot? If they were working on a major mis-direct, they might. ; ) I guess we’ll find out in a month. Can’t wait.

Chris, I had the same eerie feeling when Lotso’s character information was released! The cane and eyebrows originally brought back memories of Stinky Pete… But the plush character on sale in WDW locations is cuddly and soft, and his tummy smells like strawberries… Surely he must be charming, no?
