When it comes to your wedding, it often seems like it’s all about the bride. While some grooms leave most of the wedding planning to their lady love, many also plan some fun “guys” activities leading up to their big day. This is especially true for destination weddings, where groomsmen, fathers, brothers and uncles travel from far and wide to share in not only the wedding day itself, but also the days surrounding the big event.
Hosting a Disney’s Fairy Tale Wedding at the Walt Disney World Resort offers a wealth of activities to share with buddies. Here are my top 10 recommendations:

1. Florida has some of the best golf courses in the world. And whether you golf on your own or plan a group outing, you’ll find that Walt Disney World Golf encompasses five of the most challenging, high- quality golf courses in the country.
2. Enjoy Bass fishing at its finest all year round. With Bass Nitro Fishing, a guided fishing excursion in a tournament style Nitro Bass boat on the waterways of Walt Disney World Resort.

3. Get behind the wheel in an 8, 18, or 30 lap driving program or ride-along shotgun for 3 high-speed laps at the Richard Petty Driving Experience. Get your adrenaline pumping as you unleash a 600 hp engine and scream around the track at white-knuckle speeds! Customized events and group packages are also available.
4. Race across the water, or soar through the skies – either way you’ll be flying! Pump up the thrills at water-ski champ Sammy Duvall’s Watersports Centre. Treat your friends to an afternoon of water-skiing, wakeboarding, tubing, or rent personal watercrafts to explore the waterways of the Walt Disney World Resort.

5. Hang ten in the waters of Typhoon Lagoon with the Cocoa Beach Surfing School. Have the bay to yourself before the Park is open so that you can master the fine art of shooting the curls. The world’s largest wave machine produces surf every 90 seconds. Professional instructors and small classes help anyone from a novice to a pro improve form during a two-hour session.
6. How about a little tequila? Cava del Tequila at Epcot offers up tasting of more than 70 types of this potent elixir. You can even learn from a true Tequila Master. Not to be outdone, the international wine bar and tequila bar at Paradiso 37 at Pleasure Island offers 37 kinds of tequila (hence the restaurant’s name) as well.

7. If beer is more your scene, then check out Big River Grille & Brewing Works at Disney’s BoardWalk. This working brewpub features an on-site brew master who creates five handcrafted specialty beers. Here you get to view the whole process through floor-to-ceiling glass walls – and, of course, sample the results. Those looking for a traditional lager or a pint of Guinness in a pub can make their way over to the Rose & Crown Pub at Epcot or Raglan Road at Downtown Disney.
8. Getting married during football season? Basketball season? Baseball season? No matter the time of year, the ESPN Club at Disney’s BoardWalk offers up a 209 square foot video wall equipped to receive 30 different program feeds and every satellite sports package available.

9. More of a music fan? Listen to live bands rock at House of Blues in Downtown Disney. The Front Porch Bar offers live entertainment nightly, but be sure to also check the schedule for the Music Hall – your guys’ favorite band just might be in town.
10. Relive your youth by challenging your friends to Frogger, Pac-Man, Donkey Kong and more at DisneyQuest. Once inside, you won’t need a hefty pocket full of quarters to see who reigns supreme on the video game machines.
Whatever pre-wedding activities you plan with the guys, just be sure you make it to the pavilion, gazebo, wedding lawn, wherever – on time!

We were going to have a wedding in WDW and we planned to have at least one gathering at the Adventurers Club. We ended up eloping on Castaway Cay instead.
