A Look at New Year’s Eve Celebrations at Disneyland Resort Over the Years

posted on December 28th, 2010 by Valarie Sukovaty, Disneyland Public Relations

Have you made your list of resolutions yet? I usually do that about two hours before midnight. There’s something about the new year that allows us to to start with a clean slate. I haven’t had the pleasure of ringing in New Year’s Eve here at the resort, but I’ll put that on my resolution list for next year. Some guests make it a tradition to celebrate at the Happiest Place on Earth. In fact, the first New Year’s Eve Party at Disneyland park was on December 31, 1957. Here is a look New Year’s Eve celebrations from various decades here at the Parks. Cheers to 2011!

Wow! You guys sure know how to throw a New Year’s Eve party! I’ve never been to Disneyland though… I have seen some really awesome parties at Walt Disney World though!

Thanks for sharing! I have been going every New Years Eve since 1999 and been in in front of the castle for at least the last 8. There is usually hosts/entertainment on the castle and a few years, they have taken pictures of the crowd below. I am not sure if that was for their own personal use but I always wanted to see a picture of the crowd, err guests, taken from atop the castle.
