Disney’s PhotoPass Adding Bonus Character Photos to Select Meet-and-Greet Locations

posted on January 5th, 2011 by Jeff Nickel, Associate Producer, Disney Photo Imaging

Hi everyone, we’ve added a brand new feature to the website. Now when you have your Disney’s PhotoPass photo taken at select Character Meet and Greet locations in the Walt Disney World theme parks, we will magically add a selection of incredible stock photos of your favorite Characters from your encounter. These stock photos are all available for you to view, share, or use in any of our online photo products. All of the photos were taken by professional photographers who have captured the scenes in stunning detail and are sure to look magical in your photo projects. You can use them to spice up your Disney’s Photo Book, Calendars, Greeting Cards and best of all, when you purchase Disney’s PhotoCD they are also included as high-resolution files on the disc for your personal use at home, for printing or your computer’s desktop wallpaper!

We’ll be constantly updating the photos available and adding new bonus content locations regularly so be sure to unlock them all!

I was wondering why those were on my PP CD. It’s cool because we got Woody but not Buzzy and Mike but not Sully, but they gave us pictures of them anyway.

This is a fantastic idea. Each time I meet and greet with characters, I always want to take a photo of just the characters alone before I take one with them. This eliminates the need to do that and will generally speed up the lines!

When we came home from our December trip, I was so excited to see these in our Photopass account! We had some of the Fab 5 (and Daisy) from our breakfast at Tusker House, some from Mickey and Minnie in the Judges Tent, some of Lotso AND some of Buzz and Woody. There were also a bunch of great photos from the Holiday parade. All of them are beautiful!

Cool idea! Will you be doing this at Disneyland at all too? We are visiting in March and I would LOVE this option from our character meal experiences when I get my Photopass photos!

I have a question- does Bambi and Thumper ever wander around for photos? I have not had an encounter with either of them yet. Thanks!

Will you be extending this to Disneyland also? WOuld love to see it there!

We’ll be adding additional bonus content in the future at both the Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort! Stay tuned!

Yes, will this be an offering from Disneyland and when?

Where are these “select” locations? I want to make sure I get Duffy… :)

Jeff Nickel on January 5th, 2011 at 4:15 pm

You can meet Duffy the Disney Bear at Friendship Gazebo near the Mexico Pavilion at Epcot. The sample photo above is only one of several Duffy bonus photos added when you meet him!

My boys like Phineas and Ferb and Wall-E. I hope they offer these as well when we come this month!

I love this. We noticed the bonus stock photos during Star Wars Weekends last year. It was a nice magical surprise when we looked through our photo pass pictures…

Yes! I was just at Disney about a month ago, and we went to the EPCOT Character Spot. When I was reviewing my pictures on Disney’s Photo Pass, I noticed individual character shots, and group shots of the Fab Five. I was confused but this explains it. I think it’s a great idea! Sometimes it’s fun to have a picture of a character without a person in it. Thanks!

Thank you for the link, Jeff….just added that stop to our agenda for our upcoming trip… :)

Just wondering if there will be more 2011 borders added in the next few weeks. I only have 3 weeks left to edit my photos before ordering, and the selection is very limited.
