A Toast to 10 Years and Four Diamonds for Napa Rose

Ten years ago, a lot of people wondered why Disney would want an elite chef to create a fine dining restaurant to pair with its theme parks. In 2011, it all makes sense, as Napa Rose continues to impress its guests and reap top industry awards.

Napa Rose Restaurant at Disneyland Resort

The Disneyland Resort celebrated 10 years of excellence at Napa Rose with a recent toast to the chefs, waiters, hosts and sommeliers who deliver an exceptional dining experience night after night. They have become a close team over the years, and it’s exciting to see how happy they all were to celebrate their latest award, the 2011 AAA Four-Diamond rating from the Automobile Club of Southern California.

Napa Rose Staff at Disneyland Resort

Only 34 restaurants in Southern California earned the prestigious Four-Diamond rating for 2011, in recognition of their very high standard of serving guests.

Anyone who has dined at Napa Rose appreciates how special the experience is, from the friendly service to the remarkable wine list. No doubt the main attraction is the food. Chef Andrew Sutton focuses on fresh ingredients so you’ll always find new, seasonal items and they’re prepared in such creative ways. The Vinter’s Table menu is Chef Sutton’s masterpiece, an ever-changing combination of the season’s most delectable items.

I’ve been fortunate to enjoy some memorable meals in the elegant Napa Rose dining room. I also enjoy the cozy firepit area just outside the lounge, an ideal place to meet friends for appetizers under the stars. The next time I go I want to reserve a place at the bar that overlooks the kitchen, so I can see all the chopping, searing, pouring and prep that goes into my meal.

Happy 10th anniversary, Napa Rose, and congratulations to all the staff.

Do you have a favorite dining memory at Napa Rose? What’s your ideal way to enjoy dining at this award-winning restaurant?

  • The food and service at NR is top notch, but our last visit was a disappointment, thanks to a family of two grown ups and five little ones (under 10 years old). The little ones were crawling under the table, running around and making a general ruckus while the grown ups carried on with their conversation.

Grown ups, please remember that this restaurant is a fine dining establishment, and courtesy and decorum are the rule. If the little ones are boisterous, the Storyteller’s Cafe next door is a more appropriate environment for them.

  • Congratulations to the Napa Rose! And must I say, it DESERVES it! The food here is amazing, the service we received was so loving and welcoming and I love that it was just in our hotel and we could go and have a nice dinner after a long day at the parks and go relax while my mom has a glass of wine and I have the delicious appetizers!

Congrats again Napa Rose, I cannot wait to see you in the future! 🙂

  • #7 – Congratulations and Happy Anniversary to Chef Andy and all the staff at Napa Rose! As my hubby mentioned above, we have eaten there many times in the 10 years they’ve been open, we especially enjoy dining at our favorite seats at the Chef’s Counter and that the staff remembers us when we come in.

We’re looking forward to our dinner there tonite, to celebrate my hubby’s birthday and Napa Rose’s as well!!

    • Hope you enjoy the birthday celebrations!

  • So far I’ve never really thought to eat at Napa Rose… maybe because of my lack of attachment to California Adventure overall… but with all the changes afoot for the park and the reputation of the restaurant, I might make a point of dining there next time.

  • Congratulations to Chef Sutton and the Napa Rose team! My fingers are crossed that I can get back there this year!

  • One of the best teams in the business!

  • Congratulations, Napa Rose!

This is mine and my husbands favorite date night getaway spot! I’ve never been disappointed by a meal here.

Way to go Chef Sutton and team! We’ll see you Friday night.

  • I must say that the Napa Rose was one of the most fabulous places I have ever dined. I was lucky enough to visit on the first and last nights of my honeymoon in June 2006. I will return again at some point to experience what can only be described as a once in a lifetime magical opportunity that can only be the Napa Rose.

  • We ate there when it first opened and many other times since. The best time was when my wife made a reservation at the Chef’s Counter for my birthday. We haven’t eaten at a regular table since.

We have a reservation for tomorrow night to celebrate DCA’s and Napa Rose’s 10th anniversary.

Way to go Chef Sutton and the culinary team (especially Gloria, Gracie, Bon, Frank, Alex and Jorge). The front of house staff is also great (including Mikki, Mickey (our first server) and Steven).
