Love is in the Air: Commemorating Love at the Disneyland Resort

It’s always a good day when I get to produce “Man on the Street” or “MOS” interviews. In this type of video, there is a specific topic and I ask guests to comment on it. Meeting our guests and hearing their stories is a really fun part of my job. The bridge next to Sleeping Beauty Castle is a great location for these types of interviews because it’s a quiet spot and you get to see the beautiful, iconic Castle in the background.

In the spirit of Valentine’s Day I thought it would be romantic to see who was celebrating a special anniversary. I was surprised when I found all of these love birds near the Castle in about 30 minutes. Apparently many of you enjoy celebrating anniversaries at the Disneyland Resort!

Have you celebrated a special anniversary at the Disneyland Resort? Tell us your romantic story.

  • My husband and I are celebrating 20 years of marriage today 2/12/91! We were both in the military, and we had eloped (with both parents blessing) because President Bush Sr. had just declared war (Desert Storm) and we had to both go out to sea with our different commands shortly after. Our honeymoon was spent at Disney-World, visiting Disney Studios, Disney World and Epcot for our 3 day honeymoon.

  • I got engaged there in front of Sleeping Beauty’s Castle on my birthda in 2009. We went back to celebrate our second month of marriage a year later on my birthday in 2010 and plan to do the same very year! We take pics in the same spot every time, can’t wait to have kids and show them where Mommy and Daddy got engaged!

  • We knew each other for years (as pin traders), I asked HIM out, we went on the Walk in Walt’s Footsteps tour on Nov. 18, we got married Nov. 18, and spent our first anniversary (ON Nov. 18) at DLR. It wasn’t intentional for us, but does everyone here know why Nov. 18 is a special Disney day?

  • We got engaged in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle, and then we returned for our Honeymoon.

  • We got engaged there last year and celebrated our wedding day there! We will be celebrating our 1st anniversary there next month. Even though we go a couple times/week, it never loses it’s magic or it’s appeal. We started taking our daughter there when she was just 10 days old!

  • My husband proposed to me at Sleeping Beauties Castle…on our 25th wedding Anniversary

  • We LOVE going to Disneyland we got engaged there because we love it so much!

  • February 28th 2010, the minute the fireworks stopped sparkling in the air..My special man held me close right in front of the castle, and asked me to be his girlfriend. The magic of Disneyland must have rubbed off on us because everyday has been magical ever since. 1YR in Feb 28. 2011 E <3 M

  • My husband and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary at Disneyland last September. He is from Texas so it was his first time there and by the time we left, we both had annual passes. He loved it.

  • My husband and I celebrated our first anniversary at WDW this past December. I had never been at Christmas time and he had never been there before, so we decided to do as much as we could! We got into the Candlelight Processional, the Tomorrowland Terrace fireworks dessert buffet, and even did Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas party even though we don’t have kids. We loved all of it and we recommend all of them for those of you who have never been. The whole trip was very romantic and magical and we will definitely go back someday!

  • We celebrated our honeymoon at Disneyland last June and we wore our honeymoon buttons and when we got on “it’s a small world” we got our very own boat. That was awesome.

  • Im planning on taking my husband on our two year anniversary.
He has never been to Disneyland only Disneyworld once and that was 15 years ago.
It is such a magical place to visit.

  • My wife and I worked at Disneyland together for several years and never connected before we met for the first time in college. 15 years of marriage and two sons later, we’re all Disneyland annual passholders and still love returning to our old “haunts.”

  • After a few light dates, our first date officially as a couple was at Disneyland. A year later I proposed to him at Animal Kingdom.

  • We got married at the Disneyland resort 7 years ago…it was such and amazing fairytale come true so we are planning our 10 year at disneyworld in 2014 đŸ™‚

  • Honeymoon, Blue Bayou, 30 years ago!
