Regardless of one’s role at the Disneyland Resort, any cast member can take to the stage. I’m not a stage performer, but I’ve performed at the Hyperion Theatre in Disney California Adventure park twice in my eight years here. The opportunity came through Flashback, an annual Broadway-style musical put on by more than 250 Disneyland Resort cast members who divide into teams to compete in four mini musicals.
This feel-good production takes place in front of an audience of friends, family and co-workers after the park closes to guests.
Collectively, more than 30,000 VoluntEAR hours go into preparation for the show while ticket sales help to raise funds for charity. This year, $10,000 was donated to Anaheim Ballet. Through that organization’s Step Up program, scholarships are granted to children in need who have a passion for the arts.
From beginning to end, participating in the event is a lot of fun. The video below gives a glimpse into the hard work and talent that goes into making Flashback.

I wanted to congratulate all cast members who participated. Great job everyone. I also wanted to thank Glynn and Sandee for the opportunity to propose on Wednesday night. My fiancé is still in awe even a week later. Thank you everyone.
I want to say to all the cast members who were a part of flashback this yr. thank you for all the hard work and long hours you put in to make this an awesome show this yr. Its been a pleasure for the past several yrs for me to get to attend this amazing show. To see all my cast member friends performing in this show is so much fun. Its always fun to see what theme they come up with and who is on what team. Also its so amazing to see talent from every part of the resort come together to make one fun filled night. You all hit out right out of the park with the show this yr.

Congratulations to all the participants in Flashback. I participated twice in the past and know how much work it is. This year’s performance was wonderful. The quality of singing, dancing and acting was amazing. I wanted to be up there with you… but it was such a treat to be able to watch it. Thank you to everyone and especially Glynn and Sandy for making this happen every year.
Thanks for the recognition for these kids. This was my daughters 3rd year. She was lucky enough to be one of the leads for the winning ORANGE team. They work extremely hard, but have loads of fun and make friends outside of their little area of the park. You should explain more into how many different areas participate and come together for this annual event.
