I’ve been seeing stars in the parks since sharing our latest mystery image, and if you have been too, then this week’s puzzler will be a cinch. It’s a gold star that’s easy to spot from many locations somewhere at Disney Parks – but where? Please put your answers in the comments and we’ll update the post with the answer later today.
That’s right, it’s the icon of Disney’s Hollywood Studios theme park. The 122-foot-tall, blue and gold Sorcerer Mickey Hat is like the hat Mickey Mouse wore in the 1940 classic Disney film “Fantasia.” Here are some quick facts you may not have known:
- Head Measurements: The hat size is 606 7/8.
- On Top of the Mouse: Mickey would have to be 350 feet tall if he were to wear this giant hat.
- Paint Job: The hat is painted with a custom technique called “chameleon paint” which shifts color as guests move around it. Painting the hat required enough paint to cover 500 Cadillacs.
- The Hat: The hat itself is 100 feet tall. The interior space equals nearly 60,000 cubic feet. It can hold 444,744 gallons of water. Six stars and two moons adorn the hat.
