• Ahh, the perfect shot for a perfect pose! :)

  • How does one get a birds-eye photo of the line of people waiting for the Star Tours “early departure” on Friday?

  • I absolutely love this photo! So cute! :)

  • Luckiest Duck in the World!!!!

  • Just made this picture my desktop background :)

  • What an awesome picture! I love the duck who was ‘strolling by’.
Thanks for answering Scott’s question. The train station appears to be right behind the statue, not a block away.
Love the colors you captured! I’m going to try it too. I wonder if the duck will stop by again…and all the people will stay out of my way 😉

  • The duck looks like its watching you and posing just for the shot. One webbed paw stepping out just for the picture.

  • Paul, love your picture!! I remember when I use to come to the park with my family when I was very young, I always told them when I die I want to come back as a Disney duck. They get to have the run of the whole park day or night how cool is that.

  • Just coincidence

  • Awesome picture, Maybe just maybe that DUCK knew what he was doing!

  • @Paul

I’ve only been to Disneyland once and didn’t even notice that you could see the convention center behind the train station! I’m guessing that was because I was too busy taking in on the detail around the park to notice anything from the “outside world” encroaching on it. Being that a HUGE open plaza and then DCA is right across from the Train Station, that is quite an impressive effect that lense gave on the picture. Being a WDW Annual Passholder, it’s also something we never get in our pictures. Save for a few angels from within EPCOT, you never have to worry about something non-Disney appearing in any of your scenery pictures that you’re capturing.

Anyway. Thanks for the awesome picture!

  • it all started with and Duck?

  • What a great shot with great timing! What camera do you generally use?

  • Makes you wonder what the ducks thinking.

  • This is definitely a takeover !
Donald wants there to be a Donald+Walt statue ! ^^

  • that lens makes it all look so close

  • Wow! I’m amazed that the convention center is that visible! Thanks for the notes on the lens — I love experimenting with my camera, and I’ll have to try a longer lens!

  • She’s adorable! And, look at her pose! Being a Disney duck she must be used to having her picture taken. My family loves taking relaxing breaks to watch the ducks, either in the mote or on the Rivers of America. They are part of the Disneyland magic :-)

  • Terrific photo, Paul!

I was just at Disneyland on Friday and saw some adorable baby ducks swimming around Storybook Land. They must be the happiest ducklings on Earth!

What a wonderful job you have, photographing Disneyland, it would be so much fun to spend a day in your shoes!

  • Great photo! What is the big blue thing in the distance behind the train station?

    • Scott,

I used a 70-200 2.8 lens on a camera with a smaller sensor, which makes the lens almost a 300mm, so things are compressed in the photo. The building behind the Train Station is the Anaheim Convention Center.

  • This is an excellent picture. He is center frame, looking at the camera and I’m betting he’s smiling. If you could have gotten him, or her, to hold a sign saying “It’s a small world after all” it would have been perfect.

  • LOL! Love it!! : )

  • The Disneyland ducks are very cool characters. They always seem oblivious to people, and just like to enjoy the beautiful waterways. Great picture!

  • There is much debate on Facebook whether this photo is real. Lots of claims that it is photoshopped. Could you explain how you shot this picture so that you have the TrainStation appearing so large and what the Blue Building we are seeing in the background is?

I think this is an awesome picture and wonderful composition.

  • Love the Ducks at Disneyland California

  • AHHHH,

  • I wonder what ride in Fantasyland will ducky go on first? Maybe he will take a picture with Donald, then go on the rides. LOL!

  • Probably wondering where his/her statue is at! 😀

  • The park DOES belong to them. At least they walk around like it does.

  • Awesome photo!

  • Hahaha, mid-stride and looking right at the camera. You couldn’t ask for a better photo (≧∇≦)

  • LOL! Great photo!!
