There must be a few Disney Parks Blog readers out there who’ve at least considered trying to finish our legendary Kitchen Sink dessert without help, right? Think you can? Wait, wait, before you say “that’s easy, no prob” you should know that our colossal Disney’s Beach Club Resort dessert is designed to feed four to six people. And there’s a long list of delicious stuff included.
So, who dares challenge this colossal Disney Parks dessert treat? Our “confection correspondent” Gary dares and he even trained to finish it by himself – or at least his own unique type of training. We caught some of the fun on our first-ever “Faucet Cam.” Check it out.

I’ve trained for WDW endurance events, like Princess Half Marathon, but this looks WAY more fun!
My family of five (two adults, three teens) had a Kitchen Sink for breakfast one morning during our spring break visit to WDW. No problem finishing it whatsoever…what’s the big deal? 😉

My husband & I tried this once and made it about 2/3rds through it. Before we started I took a picture of it. It is one of my favorite desktop images on my computer. From what was showed on the video it appears to have more toppings than before. My niece wants to try it when we go down for her sweet 16.
I agree with the earlier poster on a gluten-free version. My youngest daughter can’t have gluten, so we don’t want to order it in front of her if she can’t participant in the eating! Otherwise it looks like a great time!

Define finish….LOL
There was four of us for my son’s 11th Birthday and they did a pretty good job. I say “they” because I only ate two small bowls. It was pretty much finished, just the “soup” on the bottom. I was impressed! It was fun doing this. In the words of my husband “do not do this and attempt to go to the parks afterward.” It’s a resort/pool day kinda’ thing.
The cast members are wonderful there! We love the ambience!
Gary, that’s why I love watching and talking with you. You’re always willing to take one for the team, especially if it’s entertaining. I think the “training reel” may be funnier than your dive into the sink at the end.
I remember seeing the original Kitchen Sink as a small child at Jahn’s Ice Cream Parlor in Brooklyn. I don’t remember actually attempting it (we moved to Long Island when I was 7), but I remember it as being served in a bus tray full of ice cream. I haven’t had the guts to take on Disney’s version yet, but maybe I’ll assemble a team on an upcoming trip. Care to join us? 😉
Yes, there is one in California . . . You can get the kitchen sink at the PCH Grill in the Paradise Pier Hotel. We managed to finish it, but it took 4 adults & 6 kids to accomplish this feat!!
Which was difficult since we had all enjoyed huge dinners before dessert!!!
Is there anything like this at Disneyland?

That was one of the best “blogs” ever at Disney Blogs, I laughed all the way through it. Your pushups with the Mickey Bar almost did me in. There is now coffee all over my desk 😉 I will convince my family to walk over and try it (5 of us) on our spring trip. Thanks for starting my day with a laugh.
I really wish you had a vegan version! That would be so great if you did! I would definately try it if you had one.
We have done the kitchen sink a number of times. Beaches n Cream is our favorite place to eat at Disney. On one occasion, it was right before closing time and they just piled everything they had left on top of it. We got it done with 2 adults and 3 kids. On another occasion we had the rehearsal dinner for our daughter’s wedding there and we actually had 3 kitchen sinks set up on the tables. The wedding party ate them all. It was an excellent memory. The staff provided balloons and a signed photo. We still talk about it when we visit.

My favorite kitchen sink story was when I went with a couple of girlfriends to tackle this thing. It arrived at the table and we start taking pics and admiring it before conquering it. As we puttered along with ours, there was a family behind us with a bunch of kids. Those kids were standing up on their seats, spoons ready in hand, and diving in before it even touched the table!! They kicked our butts in progress too. It was funny to watch two differing attack modes with the sink. No matter how far along I get on that thing, it’s still delicious every time! Now I want my favorite (gentler!) sundae there: the No Way Jose! Soon. =)

Without telling my husband or parents, I ordered the kitchen sink for them! I didn’t give them menus because I wanted it to be a surprise. You should have seen their eyes pop when they realized the sink was heading for our table! What fun! We were able to finish all of the icecream, but not all of the toppings. That Kitchen Sink is a champion!
We just got back today from WDW and managed to complete The Kitchen Sink challenge!! I surprised our friends with this ‘little’ treat – and they too loved it 🙂 . It’s awesome and has to be done!

The Sink gets all the attention, but even after a summer-night hike along the lake from World Showcase, I still can’t make it through a simple three-scoop Milky Way sundae (yum!) without at least one partner.
You don’t have to order the Kitchen Sink to go big at B&C, it’s the rule of the house. 🙂

We just did The Kitchen Sink challenge this June! I had read about it online and surprised my husband and four kids to this HUGE treat! My husband and I couldn’t believe how huge it was in person! The kids thought it was the coolest thing EVER! They are STILL talking about it and can’t wait to get another one next year on our WDW trip! 🙂
This is hilarious. and Concerned Bystander is back! I like ALL ice cream, especially at Disneyland and Disneyworld. Mickey Mouse Ice Cream Bars are great and I hope I can try The Kichen Sink too next trip.

A few years ago, I surprised and treated my daughter, nephews, and cousins to the Kitchen Sink. The eight children ranged in age 3 to 12. None of the kids knew that I had arranged the kitchen sink to come to our table ahead of time, so their eyes lit up when the restaurants lights started flashing and there was clapping and excitement. As they realized the waitress was coming over to them, they’re mouths opened almost as wide as their eyes!! It was great and we got some great pictures of them. That was years ago, but it was great and the kids still talk about it to this day…and yes…they did finish it but it took all of them and there was a little help from the parents!!
My friend and I watched a couple of tables attempt to finish the kitchen sink. We thought about trying it ourselves, but decided that we would not finish it. Someday I hope to go back with a big group and accomplish the task!

Myself and two friends embarked on this quest on a school trip. It was almost an hour long battle and required lots of washing up after, but we did it! This is not a challenge for the faint of heart though, besides ice cream there are several cookies, full size candy bars, and about a full size cake hidden in there!
I tried the kitchen Sink with 2 other people last year and we could not eat it all. Theres a place up here that has a big ‘family sundae’ like that but it is not as massive. As far as the video, all I have to say is ‘wow’. It’s really funny. Our family never misses a trip to Beaches and Cream on our visits.
In May 2010, I witnessed my buddy Steve D. put one of these away ALL BY HIMSELF in just 17 minutes! Didn’t faze him in the least. It was poetry in motion. Well done, Steve!
