Disney Parks Mobile Magic App is Now Free

posted on August 23rd, 2011 by Thomas Smith, Editorial Content Director, Disney Parks

UPDATE – May 11, 2012: We’re thrilled to announce that the iPhone version of Mobile Magic is now available for users in Canada and the UK. Here’s where to get it:

If you haven’t checked out our official Disney Parks app yet, now’s the time. You can’t beat this: Verizon Wireless customers can now download Mobile Magic for free. And you’ll want to have some of Mobile Magic’s nifty features at your fingertips for your next visit to the parks.

Disney Parks Mobile Magic App is Now Free

Our app offers accurate wait times as well as official Disney FASTPASS return times and availability for the park you’re in. The same system that powers wait times and Disney FASTPASS in the park, powers this app. Also, there are GPS-enabled park maps to get you to your favorite characters, mobile games and more to explore, including an easy way to make dining reservations directly from your phone.

Just visit the Android Market to download the application for free on your Verizon Wireless phone. And yes, we’re working on a version of Mobile Magic for Verizon iPhone users. That version is currently scheduled to launch this fall.

There are some official details you should know about: message and data rates may apply. Coverage not available everywhere. Availability subject to handset limitations. If you’re under 18, get your parent’s permission first.

Any chance of this app making it other carriers?

Debbie on August 23rd, 2011 at 3:10 pm

Yeah!!!! Thank you, thank you. I liked the app on my other “semi” smart phone but can’t wait for it on my Iphone. I hope it’s ready before the 40th anniversary in October.

Jacob from FL on August 23rd, 2011 at 3:12 pm

Yes, please add more carriers.

Jennifer from GA on August 23rd, 2011 at 3:14 pm

Perfect timing! My husband and I leave on Sunday for Disney World!

Andy on August 23rd, 2011 at 3:16 pm

When will your exclusivity with Verizon end? I know there are many alternate apps out, but I’d rather have the official one. Please make this available soon!

Kimberly from MA on August 23rd, 2011 at 3:44 pm

Yeah, it’s free for Verizon customers, but not available for Verizon customers with iPhones!!!

Jason on August 23rd, 2011 at 3:46 pm

I agree, make the app available to the millions of other users not on Verizon.

Will on August 23rd, 2011 at 3:53 pm

Cant wait for Verizon iPhone version!!! SO glad to hear its coming soon.

Jaime on August 23rd, 2011 at 4:02 pm

Seriously! Make this avaliable to other carriers and the iPhone! Please!!!

Lauren on August 23rd, 2011 at 4:04 pm

I know its been said but its too bad its only available for Verizon. :( Hopefully it will be available for all Android & iPhone users soon!

Terese from IL on August 23rd, 2011 at 4:05 pm

So BUMMED I can’t get this on my AT&T iPhone! C’mon Disney…show us some love! ;^)

Chris on August 23rd, 2011 at 4:17 pm

Boooooooo… C’mon Disney… Love your fans and make it available to folks other that Verizon. I can’t believe as a Disney fan I have to download an app from someone other than Disney. It would be so incredibly useful in the park and would greatly enhance my once a year trek to WDW.

Darin on August 23rd, 2011 at 4:40 pm

Coming to iPhones but only on Verizon? WHY? Please bring this to AT&T, I would way prefer an official Disneyland app over an unofficial Disneyland app

Lovelyn from HI on August 23rd, 2011 at 5:25 pm

Yeah….please allow Disney apps to other carriers. We’re planning a vacation to Disneyland soon and would love to have it on my smart phone.

Gordon on August 23rd, 2011 at 5:33 pm

Yes to more carriers (AT&T). And yes to a Windows Phone 7 app!

Steven from PA on August 23rd, 2011 at 6:26 pm

I also would love to have this with AT&T.

Mark from MO on August 23rd, 2011 at 6:37 pm

This Disney parks app can’t come soon enough to the AT&T network. Does Disney have an estimated date the parks app will be available for AT&T users?

Timothy on August 23rd, 2011 at 8:30 pm

How about a Android app! They have taken over the market share in the US and around the world. Also should make it available for all US carriers.

Louie from CA on August 23rd, 2011 at 9:15 pm

Great news! Can’t wait to download it for iPhone!

Randy on August 23rd, 2011 at 11:41 pm

Will this Disney Parks App be available for the AT&T iPhone anytime soon? I would sure love to download this to my iPhone. I noticed this free app when I went to Disneyland last month inside the free Guidemap of Disneyland that you can pick up while you enter the park.

Constance from MO on August 24th, 2011 at 12:08 am

Please make available to Sprint!!

Tracy on August 24th, 2011 at 12:13 am

I would also LOVE to see this offered for other carries. As a Sprint customer, I would even be willing to pay for this app if I had to. I know there are other apps to choose from, but like other’s have said…. I would rather have the “official” one :O)

Matthew on August 24th, 2011 at 6:03 am

Switch to Verizon if you want the official app. That’s what many had to do with At&T to get the iPhone.

gary from NY on August 24th, 2011 at 7:51 am

What about iphone users on ATT? This seems to be focused only to certain users.

John from IL on August 24th, 2011 at 8:38 am

More carriers please!! I am AT&T and Android.

Mark from MO on August 24th, 2011 at 9:50 am

While we are on the subject of Apps is there any chance of the Disney Parks Blog getting it’s own App for iPhone anytime soon..?

Catherine from NJ on August 24th, 2011 at 10:13 am

why is there never a Blackberry app? And more carriers? How about Sprint?? Please???

Douglas from MD on August 24th, 2011 at 3:29 pm

Wish all Disney Parks visitor could have this app even if we have a different mobile phone carrier.

Lee on August 24th, 2011 at 3:52 pm

How about a refund for those of us who were dumb enough to purchase it earlier. I’ve just about had it with all cell phone providers.

Sarah from IN on August 24th, 2011 at 6:33 pm

I would love to see this app for ATT & Android. Disney fans who make multiple trips a year like I do should not have to switch phone carriers to have this awesome app! When traveling with friends who had Verizon we used the app and it was VERY useful!

Lauren on August 24th, 2011 at 7:51 pm

AT&T please!!! I bought my iphone with them before Verizon got it. And I’m sure everyone else would love it too. I found a free app that isn’t this one and while it’s ok -it’s not the same!

Michael on August 24th, 2011 at 9:43 pm

I have verizon and got this app (i’ve always wanted to :) ) and it’s amazing especially for dining and chosing one of the many restaraunts at WDW!

Annette from MI on August 24th, 2011 at 9:47 pm

Yippee for both being free and the fact that it is coming to the iphone.

Sari on August 25th, 2011 at 5:35 pm

Why is this only for Verizon users? :( I saw people using it last year and thought it was so cool and would’ve loved to download it, but I have AT&T.

Wendy from CA on August 25th, 2011 at 6:25 pm

Just chiming in on AT&T

Audra on August 25th, 2011 at 6:27 pm

Why is this carrier-specific? You’d have so many more people buying and using it if it were offered on other phones. AT&T, please!

Monika on August 25th, 2011 at 7:43 pm

I would like to ask Disney to do one for Sprint. We don’t get verizion here.

Dawn on August 25th, 2011 at 9:32 pm

I have verizon…. is this not available on the blackberry….??????

Jon on August 25th, 2011 at 10:10 pm

Make this available to US Cellular customers and support the Blackberry phones. We go to WDW annually if not more often and this would ensure we get the most out of our time there!!!!

Heather on August 25th, 2011 at 10:24 pm

Sprint customers would also love to have this app accessible to their phones.

Kelly from OH on August 25th, 2011 at 10:29 pm

Is it only free for Android users? I got the Verizon phone that I have specifically because it was able to use this app. We are going to Disney in 24 days and I planned on purchasing the app for the $9.99 but even better if it’s free.

Pam on August 26th, 2011 at 11:23 pm

I have loved the look of this since it came out. I’m glad that it’s finally FREE. But it is still really limited on the brands of phones. How about making it available for more models of phones. When this came out I was soooo happy that finally there was something good for Verizon fans. Then to find out how limited it was on the types of phones. Now it’s free, there’s a few more phones but not mine. Come on Disney, get with the program.

Cindi on August 27th, 2011 at 9:19 am

Also, remember your INTERNATIONAL guests, esp CANADIANS!! :)) We LOVE DW too….my family and I are coming to see you in Oct and would greatly appreciate a usefull app such as this to help us plan our stay.
Tks!! :)

Alicia on August 27th, 2011 at 11:54 am

Looking forward to the iPhone version, headed down this December.

Lauren from GA on August 27th, 2011 at 1:55 pm

I downloaded it! YAY!! But I am disappointed that some games on the Disney Parks Mobile Magic is not working. It kept saying Error Retry?

Janice from CA on August 28th, 2011 at 7:34 am

Is there anychance that this app will soon be available for other carriers? I have an Andriod but it’s through t-mobile, I was excited because it is my first smart phone and the first thing I went looking for is this app, only to be disapointed because it is only for Verizon customers. Please Disney Share this app with other carriers even if it is a free to verizon others pay I would pay a few dollars for it.

Michelle on August 28th, 2011 at 4:41 pm

Wow, heading there on 9/4. Can’t believe I can’t get this on my AT&T iPhone.

Friend on August 28th, 2011 at 6:56 pm

Please let us know when the app is available for the iPhone.

Alexander from FL on August 29th, 2011 at 3:28 am

I also say bring it to other Carriers.

Karen on August 29th, 2011 at 10:14 pm

Why not make it available for your season passholders who have AT&T iPhones?
