If you’re anything like me and you love Disney trivia, it will come as no surprise that Nov. 18 is a momentous day in the history of Disney animation – it’s Mickey Mouse’s birthday!
Mickey made his grand debut in “Steamboat Willie,” which was released at the Colony Theater in New York on Nov. 18, 1928.
In honor of this anniversary, the header images on each page of the Disney Parks Blog will feature a rotating selection of Mickey Mouse images. Each time you visit a story or refresh a page, a new image will load. These images represent life with Walt Disney, special moments at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort, and more.
Which is your favorite? Let us know in the “Comments” section below.

I love the one of the silhouette of Mickey’s statue in Toontown. I’m going to Disneyland today, I’ll be sure to say “Happy Birthday!”

Happy birthday to Mickey and Minnie!
My favorite header image so far is from the Bicentennial! I was 7 years old at the time and, yet, the images from that year and, especially, the parade and Donald, Mickey and Goofy with the fife, flag and drum are forever seared in my brain as some of my earliest Disney Parks memories.

I love the one of Walt and Mickey on the train. Happy Birthday Mickey!!!!
Also, I was wondering if you could post all the pictures that will be the headers so that we could look at them all in one place. Or, even better have them be a part of the DisneyParksblog wallpaper series.

Wow, Disney Parks Blog, that’s a tough, tough choice! They’re all so epic, but the ones with Walt are particularly awesome!

@Eddie, you can actually get those Mickeys at the Walt Disney Family Museum. They have a beautiful replica of Mickey and Minnie and are very affordable!

I have a question about the photo above, of Walt surrounded by Mickeys. All of the Mickeys are the same except for one (lower right). Do you happen to know why one is different from the rest?
Krista on November 19th, 2011 at 4:16 pm
I wonder the same thing Gina did. Why is that one Mickey different?
James from GA on November 20th, 2011 at 3:22 am
I have always had a special connection with Mickey, as we have the same birthday (although I’m a bit younger at 27) 2 years ago I was lucky enough to be in EPCOT on my birthday and I went to the meet spot and had a fantastic moment with Mickey as soon as he noticed my birthday button!!!
Gina on November 21st, 2011 at 7:51 am
Krista, if you look at the shadow on the ground….that Mickey has five fingers!!! And it looks like it’s posing as if someone was inside of it… But its too small. Kinda creepy.
