Disneyland Resort Guided Tours: Discover the Magic

One of the reasons I love working at the Disneyland Resort is that I learn something new every day. Whether it’s a piece of Disney history, a behind-the-scenes fact or a tip for visiting the parks, each day brings new knowledge of the happiest place on earth. But you don’t have to work here to learn from the Disneyland experts! That’s why I’m excited to bring you a new series of Disney Parks Blog posts – a look at the guided tours available to our resort guests.

Experience the Discover the Magic Guided Tour at Disneyland Park

First, I want to tell you about the Discover the Magic Guided Tour. This interactive scavenger hunt through Disneyland park helps guests discover things they might not have known about the park by hunting for clues and experiencing some popular attractions. Use your sleuthing skills to solve puzzles, hunt for hidden treasure and discover Disneyland park in a whole new way!

This tour is especially fun for families with children or groups who are celebrating birthdays or special occasions. If you want to discover some things about the park that you might not know, while experiencing some of the fun Disneyland park has to offer, you should definitely check out the Discover the Magic Guided Tour. Also, be sure to check out the other Disneyland Resort Guided Tours at Disneyland.com/Tours.

Here are some things to know:

  • The tour is approximately 2 ½ hours long.
  • Theme park admission for Disneyland park is required to attend the tour.
  • The tour leaves from Disneyland park Tour Gardens (left of City Hall) on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 10 a.m.
  • All guests who participate receive a special, tour-exclusive lanyard and medallion.
  • Attractions and entertainment are subject to change without notice.

For pricing and booking information (and to find out about a special discount for Disney Rewards Visa and AAA card holders, Disney Vacation Club members and Disneyland Resort Annual Passport holders) call 714-781-TOUR (8687).

  • Is there a set list of attractions that they attempt to cover during this tour?

  • Regardless, I would Love to take a Disney Tour the next time I go to Disneyland. Not sure when that will be… C’mon One More Disney Day Sweepstakes! Mama wants to go to Disneyland! 🙂

  • My dream job would be to be a Tour Guide for Disneyland. Whenever I go I already spout out DL facts to whomever I am with. Of course, they don’t always care about it as much as I do and tune me out. lol Would be nice to know even more and have people actually enjoy what I am telling them. 🙂
Unfortunately a) I don’t leave in CA (I am in WA) & b) I have a tattoo on the inside of my wrist…cuff bracelets are cool right?? 😉 or I’d brave long sleeves in the summer…

  • My daughter (12 at the time) and I took this tour back when it first began (it was a little longer then) but it was SOOOO much fun (and we’ve taken several tours)! Several years later, we still talk about getting our pirate weapons and our whole group ran screaming like marauding pirates to hijack a raft to the island for the next clue. Most of the group was adults/teens and everybody got into the act through-out the whole tour – an absolute blast! I highly recommend it!

  • I have wanted to take a tour for a very long time, but we never put aside enough funds to take one. This year we’re going for our honeymoon and have been saving so we can finally take one, or maybe two now that I know this one is available! Can’t wait to read about more tours Disneyland offers.

  • I took the Walk in Walt’s Footsteps tour a few years back. I took the tour to get the pin (as I am a pin collecter.) I actually enjoyed the tour and learned alot of new facts about Disneyland. I learned about the Snow White statue being the same height as the other seven. I also learned about the names in the windows on Main Street and most interesting the hidden Walt in New Orleans Square and the hidden Goofy in Pirates. Did not know any of these things before I took the tour. I am very interested in taking other tours.

  • Dear Ms. Glover,

What a very informative and well written post! This service would greatly benefit our family, as we have an autistic twelve year old boy who loves this kind of interaction. This would be a wonderful opportunity for our family to experience the parks with a real mission to find things and discover new areas.

    Thank you,
    Jackie

    • Thanks, Jackie! I’m glad this is something that will make your visit even more magical.

  • FYI: Betsy (pictured here) is an actual working Tour Guide, not an actress or model. 🙂
