Great news, Disneyland Resort Annual Passholders! Amidst the hustle and bustle of the holidays, I was able to get a sneak peek of some of the great offerings that you can look forward to in the new year.

“Star

First up is a Star Tours 25th Anniversary Commemorative Tee. Above is a quick look at the art that will appear on the front and back of the shirt. Do you remember where you were January 9, 1987? Were you one of the first guests on the attraction? I’ll admit, I was in grade school. Enough said. If you’re looking for a way to celebrate this galactic milestone, this is definitely the way to go. This shirt will be available in January 2012 at Star Trader in Tomorrowland at Disneyland park, so make sure you watch ArtofDisneyParks.com for release dates. The force is certainly strong with this one, so don’t miss out!

What else? Well, I’m glad you asked because this one is “key”… literally. This January, we invite you, our Disneyland Resort Annual Passholders, to “unlock the magic!” This commemorative open-edition collection features six different lock-inspired pins themed to attractions around the resort, including Sleeping Beauty Castle, Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride, The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel’s Undersea Adventure, Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion and The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. Also in January for passholders will be the first of The Lost Keys of the Disneyland Resort.

There are six limited-edition “keys” in total and each one will correspond to a pin from the “Unlock the Magic” collection. Special Tip: The pins can actually clip on to the “locks” as shown in the picture above. A new “lost key” will debut every other month, each sold separately. Release dates for these pins will be available on DisneyPins.com, so be sure to watch for them.

I better wrap this up for now. Have a safe and happy new year, Disney fans!

  • the pins look amazing! its a great design!

  • I’m new to the Annual Passholder special offers stuff, where can I buy the Castle Key Pin? Online? in the Park? Please let me know! Thanks. 🙂

    • Hey Jacqueline! You’re going to love being an Annual Passholder. The Castle Key Pin will be available on January 19th, at Little Green Men Store Command in Tomorrowland at Disneyland park, Disney’s Pin Traders in the Downtown Disney District and other select locations. If you like the key, the “locks” will be available January 26. Hope that helps!

  • Thanks for the update, Michelle!

Will any of these items be available to passholders who will not be able to visit the park to purchase them? I would love to have the Star Tours 25th anniversary tee, but unfortunately I will not be in the park anytime soon.

    • Hi Craig! I would recommend calling the Merchandise Guest Services team at 1-877-560-6477 and inquiring with them about the anniversary tees. I can confirm they are actually in stores now, so hope that helps.

  • YIPPEE!! I am loving the Passholder key pins! Finally something I really want!! Not just passholder things but something worthwhile to collect!

  • Star Tours is such a cool E-Ticket attraction. Especially with its recent upgrade. And the CASTLE key looks amazing. Happy New Year!!

  • Wow, we will be there on Monday, January 9th and it happens to be the 25th Anniversary of Star Tours! My Star Wars obsessed boys LOVE Star Tours. I think I rode it for the first time the same year that it opened…now I feel old! It’s great to see the excitment on their eyes every time they ride it. Thanks for posting about this.

  • OMG! *drool*…I want…….

  • What an intriguing idea! Keys and locks are mysterious symbols in and of themselves, but linking them to the castle and other attactions, to the magic kingdom, and the world-famous Disney magic, now there is a “humdinger” of an idea!!!

  • …in a few years, of course! 😉

  • That Star Tours art would look mighty good on shirts for WDW passholders too….

  • Nice thanks for sharing. And Happy New Year.

    • Thanks Janet! Happy New Year to you too! I’m glad you like it. There’s a lot of great things coming this year that I’m excited to share with all of you. So please keep watching the Disney Parks Blog.
