Fireworks at Cinderella Castle

Every Letter Has Character at Disney Parks

posted on February 16th, 2012 by Michelle Harker, Merchandise Marketing & Communications Project Manager, Disneyland Resort

Year after year, our Product Development team goes back to the drawing board working closely with our talented team of artists from Disney Design Group to come up with creative ideas for exciting new merchandise. So what have they come up with for this year? Formally known to us as the Letters Program, you’ll find the names for Disneyland park and Magic Kingdom filled with character this year – quite literally. Take a look!

Disneyland Name Filled with Disney Characters

This art or a variation of it will appear on T-shirts, hoodies, headwear, tote bags, frames, magnets, license plate holders and drink ware, among other fun souvenir items.

Magic Kingdom Name Filled with Disney Characters

I caught up with the product developer for this fun new merchandise, Summer Bloomfield, who had this to share on how the magic of this artwork came to life. “I think at some point we all want to be a kid again. Visiting Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom allows you to do just that, even if it’s just for a few minutes, hours or even days,” said Summer. “We wanted to encompass many of the favorite icons, characters or memories that we know people will remember. What better ways to represent the parks than with pirate ships, castles, attractions and of course, characters?”

Which character or icon best represents your last visit to one of our Disney Parks?

It is always a good thing when you make different designs for each park and not lump them together as one. Would also like to see a design with elements that are unique to each park worked in also.

Tron Legacy was a big one. As well as Toy Story 3.

This is a great design. I can’t wait to get some of the Disneyland souvenirs. Any idea when these will be released? :)

Nicole, quite a few items are currently available with these designs, so be sure to stop by Emporium, World of Disney and other select locations to find these new designs.

I just brought a pair of the Disneyland shirts back for my kids and they absolutely LOVE trying to identify each of the characters hiding in the letters. Great work!

I think this is gorgeous and an innovative idea! It really encompasses all that is Disney and will be a precious keepsake for all who purchase it. I can’t wait to get my hands on some of that merchandise! Thank you!

Icon: Cinderella’s Castle. I was a WDW College Program Cast Member who worked behind the castle in Fantasyland.

Love this new design; can’t wait to buy it. Will they have the letters for Animal Kingdom? It’s my favorite park.

Michelle Harker on February 17th, 2012 at 11:49 am

Hey Shannon, I’m so glad you like the design. As of right now, it has only been developed for Magic Kingdom and Disneyland park. But Animal Kingdom park is one of my favorites too.

Now if only we could get individual prints of each letter so we could use them to spell out our last name, or a kids name for their room-it would be so cute!!

#12 – Kelly
Is Minnie your second favorite character?
She is on the opposite end of both.
