Disney•Pixar’s ‘Brave’ to Join ‘World of Color’ at Disney California Adventure Park

This time next month, all the new entertainment and attractions at Disney California Adventure park will be open for you to enjoy. I, for one, can’t wait to see everything. June 15 will be a full day of memorable experiences, capped off with the stunning “World of Color” nighttime spectacular!

Since “World of Color” made its debut back in 2010, the show has featured occasional updates and surprises, delighting audiences with forays into new worlds ranging from “TRON: Legacy” to “Prep & Landing.” Just in time for one of the biggest summers in Disney California Adventure park history, “World of Color” is set to introduce another new sequence, inspired by the Disney•Pixar film “Brave.”

Merida from Disney•Pixar's 'Brave

Set to “Brave” composer Patrick Doyle’s stirring Scottish score, the sequence introduces us to the film’s adventurous heroine Merida, as she races across the Scottish Highlands, bow and arrow in hand, on her faithful horse Angus, and follows the mysterious will o’ the wisps on an epic journey to change her fate.

“Brave” opens in theaters June 22, but you’ll be able to catch the “Brave”-inspired sequence in “World of Color” starting June 15.

Comments

  • If Pirates is shrinking to its original length, does that mean the old villains sequence will be back, or are Hellfire and its preceding scenes gone for good? That was always my favorite part of the show.

  • This is going to be a crazy exciting day! Do you know if people are camping out the night before or if Disney is going to allow it?

  • TRONcore = best evah!

  • That sounds incredible! Unfortuntely I don’t get to go to Disneyland much (although I go to Walt Disney World twice a year!). I saw World of Color once, and it was jaw-droppingly amazing! I LOVED it! Is there any chance that it might open in WDW too?

  • @ Laura, The D23 site has just posted an opportunity for D23 members to preview Cars Land on the 9th and 10th. There is a contest similiar to the Star Tours lottery for AP holder to preview Cars Land on the 11th, you can find this under the AP news section of the AP site. There is a contest for CA and AZ residents through Ralphs and Coca Cola where on of the prizes is to attend the Media Day on the 14th. Good luck!

  • Sounds exciting! As a big fan of World of Color (I watch it alot!), I look forward to new additions to the show!

  • Has there been any news for AP or D23 previews of Cars Land. I just can’t wait to see it all… And not from the top of Screaming’. 🙂

  • Ricky and Alexander, the “Brave” segment will be incorporated into the main show, just as the extended “Pirates of the Caribbean” sequence was last summer. With the addition of “Brave,” the “Pirates” segment will return to its original length, but still remain part of World of Color.

  • Sounds great! However, will this segment be replacing any current segment in “World of Color”?

  • I can’t wait for the movie to come out!

  • Very exciting to hear! Will this be replacing any part of the current show? We will be in Disneyland the week of DCA’s relaunch

  • I love that World of Color continues to be updated. Will this be during the show, like the addition of the Pirates sequence, or an encore like the Tron sequence?
