Monstrous Summer All-Nighter at Disney Parks

Moms: Are You Celebrating Mother’s Day at Disney Parks?

posted on May 13th, 2012 by Jennifer Fickley-Baker, Social Media Manager

In honor of this lovely Mother’s Day holiday, I thought we could talk about how some of you are celebrating the day – especially those of you who have made a tradition out of celebrating the holiday at a Disney Park or resort.

Our family sure has. Each year, we have breakfast at Kona Café at Disney’s Polynesian Resort, and afterward, we take a stroll on the beach to burn off our Tonga Toast calories (and really, what better gift is there than Tonga Toast?).

And we’re not alone in our tradition. A friend of mine who has worked for Walt Disney World Resort for more than 20 years spends each Mother’s Day exploring the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival.

What’s your tradition? Or if you could plan your dream day here, share it in the comments section below.

We do. We’re heading to Disney’s Beach club right now. Happy mother’s day!

Sharing Disney was always a part of the joy of our family tradition. I lost my mom 2 years ago, but I will always remember her riding Soarin’, laughing like a little kid and picking up her feet every time we “flew” over the mountain range. She was 75, but the magic Disney parks can bring doesn’t acknowledge age…that tradition of joy and laughter is something worth treasuring.

I agree. I’ve seen my grandma (in her 80s) and my mom (in her 50s) both act like kids again at our parks. We have great memories of our three generations spending time there.

Hi,
I was thinking about this today and if I could I would hop into my private plane and be at WDW! Now if I could only win a big lottery contest!
Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there.

I’m spending the day with my very own Disney Cast Member – my Son, along with my lovely daughter-in-law and my precious granddaugher.

Sounds great, Leigh!

Sounds like you had a great time, Jennifer! Nothing tops off a celebration like Tonga Toast. Hope you had a Happy Mother’s Day!

We celebrated Mothers Day at Disney a day early. My first trip to Disneyland was when I was about 7 years old, my son’s first visit was when he was about 6 and my daughter’s first visit was when she was seven. On Saturday I brought to tears by a photo of my 22 year old son and my 9 year old daughter along with Pooh. I am a Mom richly blessed :-)

I went for brunch- unfortunately not even close to a Disney Park. Someday, I will celebrate my mother in WDW.

We celebrated Mothers day a day early at the parks. It was my first Mother’s day as a mom, and this is a tradition I definitely am looking forward to keeping up with! :)

Last year (2011) I spent Mother’s Day at WDW. It was one of the greatest Mothers Days ever. Breakfast at the Trails End..a boatride..time at Epcot….it was all Magical. If I could do it again every year..that would be my wish :)
