Booking Begins at 7 a.m. August 14 for Epcot International Food & Wine Festival Special Events

posted on July 17th, 2012 by Pam Brandon, Disney Parks Food Writer

We’re less than a month away from the date to book your favorite ticketed events at the 17th Annual Epcot International Food & Wine Festival.

Along with wine and mixology seminars and culinary demos, we can’t wait to try a couple of the new experiences for 2012. The Marketplace VIP Access Chef Tour begins at 10:30 a.m. every Wednesday, with tastes from selected marketplaces around World Showcase Lagoon and behind-the-scenes stories from the chefs. You get five (pre-selected) dishes and five beverages (wine, beer and cocktails) on the tour, which takes about two hours. Cost is $90 (plus tax and park admission).

The Italy Pavilion is also adding a new Italian Regional Food & Wine Luncheon in the recently opened Tutto Gusto Wine Cellar, pairing wines with casual, authentic dishes. The leisurely luncheons will be from noon-2 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays. Cost is $75 (plus tax, gratuity included, park admission required). Italy will continue its popular series of International Food & Wine Festival events at Via Napoli, as well as the exquisite White Truffle Lunch on November 4 this year, in Tutto Italia Ristorante.

The extravagant Party for the Senses in the World ShowPlace Events Pavilion is back, this year with a new tier of pricing – a ticket for a reserved table on the main floor ($170 plus tax, gratuity included, park admission required). A reserved table in the premium Wine View Lounge is $270 plus tax (gratuity included, park admission required), and general admission is $145 plus tax (gratuity included, park admission required). Both of the reserved seating options also include a specialty cocktail and early admission at 7:15 p.m. This year’s Party for the Senses dates are October 6, 13, 20, and 27, and November 3.

Stay tuned for more updates. And don’t forget to book beginning at 7 a.m. on August 14 by calling 407-WDW-FEST (407-939-3378). Visit www.epcotfoodfestival.com for the latest news – specifics to be posted late July!

It was mentioned in the special ticket events post above, but are there plans to still have the 3DDD Dessert Parties again this year? Will those tickets also be available on 8/14?

Pam Brandon on July 17th, 2012 at 11:46 am

Hi Stacy, yes, the dessert parties are back this year! Tickets available 8//14.

The initial information stated that dessert parties would be on ‘selected Fridays’ – when will we know which Fridays missed the cut? Additionally, when will we know the full slate of other events that haven’t been released yet? (Sweet Sundays??? Other luncheons?? Afternoon Wine Pairings?? etc etc etc.)

The full schedule of all Food & Wine events will be posted by the end of July at epcotfoodfestival.com.

I’ve been looking forward to The Party for the Senses for 5 years! I’m so happy to be back in FL and close enough to visit Disney whenever I want!

My kids (12, 9 and 9) will be attending out first Food and Wine festival this fall. Are there any family oriented special events?

Pam Brandon on July 18th, 2012 at 1:44 pm

Along with delicious tastes at the Marketplaces (including a Nesquick Froth at the Desserts and Champagne Marketplace, and a non-dairy berry smoothie at the new Terra (vegan) Marketplace, there are lots of family-oriented special events, such as “Discover the Cranberry” Bog hosted by Ocean Spray; The Watermelon Patch hosted by The National Watermelon Promotion Board; The Chocolate Experience: From Bean to the Bar, hosted by Ghirardelli Chocolate; The Magic of Healthy Living Dinner featuring Chefs Andrew Zimmern and Bryan Voltagio, Friday October 19th, 6:30pm; and the free Eat to the Beat concerts.

What will the Wine View Lounge include that the reserved seating dose not? Will there be plenty of tables for those with regular admission or will they be left standing?

Pam Brandon on July 18th, 2012 at 1:44 pm

The Wine View Lounge also includes a premium bar, artisanal cheese station and a few other extras. With general admission, there will be tables, but seating will be limited.

If the Magic of Healthy Living dinner is on October 19th does that mean that the 3D Dessert Party will not be held that night?!?!

Is it appropriate for kids to attend the 3D dessert party?
