If you love Disneyland history, I’ve got a tour for you. The “Walk in Walt’s Disneyland Footsteps” Tour replaces the current “A Walk in Walt’s Footsteps” tour beginning September 9, and is available to book right now. Traveling through Disneyland park, you will learn about the challenges, excitement, inspiration, and fun that went into creating Walt Disney’s original Magic Kingdom as well as the story of the life of Walt Disney himself.

The newly re-launched tour includes an exclusive look into Walt Disney’s private apartment, a peek into the lobby of the exclusive, members-only Club 33, a private lunch on Main Street U.S.A., two classic attraction experiences and a collectible pin.

Here are some things you should know about the “Walk in Walt’s Disneyland Footsteps” Guided Tour:

  • The tour is approximately three hours long.
  • Theme park admission for Disneyland park is required to attend the tour.
  • The tour leaves from Disneyland Tour Gardens (left of City Hall) every day at 9:30 a.m.
  • Attractions and entertainment are subject to change without notice.

Comments

  • What time does the tour phone line open in the morning? I can’t wait to reserve my tour.

  • I just called to make reservations, and if you’re an annual passholder it cost $89.00!

  • Is it possible for international guests to book this tour as well?

  • Wondering what the collectible pin will be?? Will it be the same as the previous tour (gold with Walt in front of the castle)? Or will it be a pin of Walt’s lamp in the apartment. A friend of mine recently visited Walt’s apartment and got a special pin of the lamp.

  • I’ll be visiting with a group of friends in October and we are all excited to take the tour! “See Walt’s apartment” is on all of our bucket lists and we can’t wait to check that one off! We’ve marked our calendar to make reservations a month in advance.

  • Janice – the tour cost includes the lunch.

  • It looks like the Club 33 format has not changed from the previous tour, and as such, there will NOT be an opportunity to buy merch while in the club’s lobby. Erin, please feel free to correct me if I’m mistaken here.

    • That is correct, David.

  • I was fortunate to have visited Walt’s apartment as a CM, but my son has always wanted to experience it also! Curious – does the price of the tour include the lunch, or is this an additional charge?

    • David is correct, Janice – lunch is included with the tour.

  • also wondering if club 33 merch can be bought while on the tour..

    • Jennifer – Club 33 merchandise will not be available for purchase on this tour.

  • Already sold out for the 9th. I called earlier and was unable to get a spot for the last day of my trip.

  • Does anyone have an idea at how much that tour costs? If so please let me know.

  • What does the tour of Walt’s Apartment entail? How long are you inside for? Is the group photo taken by a PhotoPass CM and offered for purchase later or is a copy of the photo included with the tour cost?

  • It used to be 59$ per guest with discounts for premium and Delux pass holders and AAA members and Disney visa members. I wonder if they have now changed the price because it includes his apartment? Hmm I will just look at pictures online of his apartment if that’s the case and give the tour to my friends and family myself lol

  • I’ve confirmed this tour for September 10th. My heart was pounding of excitement!!

  • I did the Walk In Walt’s Footsteps tour several years ago, but it looks like I’m doing it again! Admission to Walt’s apartment is worth pretty much any price!

  • I love the Walk in Walt’s Footsteps tour. I wished they did the apartment when I did the tour. I can’t wait to take it again!

  • $87.20 per person x 7. Hmmm gotta think about this one.

  • I just called to find the pricing for AAA members. To me, the $$ is totally worth it! I’ll be calling in September to book the tour for October 🙂

  • This is wonderful! I booked my tour for September 10th and can’t wait for the day to come. Thank you for the update, I’m so glad to be a Disney Parks Blog reader!!

    • We’re glad you’re a Disney Parks Blog reader, too! Enjoy the tour!

  • Wha…wha…wha?!?!?!? Walt’s apartment?!?!?!? Okay, looking into booking another tour! 🙂 Thanks, Erin!

  • Is it possible to purchase Club 33 merchandise while visiting the lobby on the “A Walk in Walt’s Footsteps” tour?

    • I’m sorry, Tommy – Club 33 merchandise will not be available for purchase on this tour.

  • Can we take pictures inside the apartment?

    • Julia – Photography will not be permitted inside Walt’s apartment, but the tour includes a group photo opportunity inside the apartment.

  • Does this tour include a stop in Club 33, as the picture suggests?

    • Yes – tour guests will be able to visit the lobby of Club 33.

  • We did the Walk in Walt’s Footsteps Tour at the request of my daughter for her 14th Birthday and have recommended it to many since then. As soon as she sees this post, I know what her request will be for her 18th Birthday… Thanks Disneyland for always offering us a new glimpse into what makes Disneyland The Happiest Place on Earth!!

  • “For pricing please call …”

that means its really expensive. lol

I would love to take this tour, but I’m sure I couldn’t afford it.

  • I’ve taken the Walk in Walt’s Footsteps tour before and loved it! But, just curious how it’s different from the previous iteration. It sounds exactly the same from what is reported on in the blog entry.

    • Loren – It is similar to the previous version, with new tour stops including Walt’s apartment on Main Street, U.S.A.
