Nighttime Spectaculars: New ‘Celebrate the Magic’ Images, Expanded Seating for Fantasmic!

posted on September 5th, 2012 by Thomas Smith, Social Media Director, Disney Parks

When the sun sets here at Disney Parks, it’s time for our nighttime spectaculars. And tonight, we’re sharing a few updates on what’s to come this year at the Walt Disney World Resort, including plans to expand seating for Fantasmic! shows at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

“‘Celebrate

Beginning in November, “Celebrate the Magic” at Magic Kingdom Park will transform Cinderella Castle with spectacular new projection effects. Disney Parks Blog readers are among the first to see our newest sneak peek images.

“‘Celebrate

When shows begin, “Celebrate the Magic” will feature all-new music, storytelling and special effects. It’ll be a journey to the heart of the most beloved Disney stories and characters, according to show director Katy Harris.

Also, one of my favorite nighttime spectaculars at Disney Parks will be growing. We’re installing an additional 1,000 seats in the Hollywood Hills Ampitheatre for the popular Fantasmic! shows. Fantasmic! is performed nightly and you can view our online calendar for specific dates and times.

Will the new castle show begin on Nov. 1? Also, will the installation of the additional seating for Fantasmic! cause the show to be shut down for any period of time? Thanks for the updates! :)

What is a “Disney Parks”? Is it a theme park like Disneyland or Walt Disney World? Where is it?

@Matthew This blog is about DHS & MK in Walt Disney World :)

PLEASE can you give more specific that the vague November?? A date would be nice or even early, mid, late month.

And as asked previously will Fantasmic be showing or suspended while the additional seating is installed???

It is VERY frustrating and disheartening to be given so much vague information regarding time frames for this fall to those that have already planned a visit during this time :(

Thank You!!!!

1. When in November will the new show start?

2. Will Fantasmic! have to go dark for a bit to install the new seats?

Thanks for the update!!

I think the Glow with the Show ears belong at WDW for Fantasmic and the Celebrate the Magic shows. They’d look great on our coast too!

Will this Celebrate the Magic also be coming to Disneyland on It’s a Small World, just the Magic, the Memories and You did?

@ Athena from WA: No Disneyland has no further plans for the projection system at its a small world! execpt for the Holiday show that goes every 15 minutes and Specile Events. MMY was not as big as it was at WDW because it was in the back of the park at very odd times MK MMY was on the castle in the hub and it did not have to compete with World of Color or Fantsmic!. (Oh Yea DL Fantasmic is way better because we got Glow with the show) ;)
