Santa’s on His Way to the Jingle Jangle Jamboree at Disneyland Park

posted on November 6th, 2012 by Shawn Slater, Communications Manager, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Creative Entertainment

Here comes Santa Claus!
The Jingle Jangle Jamboree is Coming to Disneyland Park

Once again, Santa and Mrs. Claus are making the trip down from the North Pole to enjoy a special visit with everyone at Big Thunder Ranch in Frontierland. But this year there’ll be more fun than ever as they play host to the Jingle Jangle Jamboree, starting November 12!

It’s a jolly holiday spot filled with Disney characters, music, games, crafts and seasonal entertainment for the whole family. At the Jingle Jangle Jamboree, you’ll be able to enjoy some of Mrs. Claus’s tasty treats and try your hand at Reindeer Games like “Wreath Around the Antlers” or “Pass the Presents.” When Billy Hill and the Holiday Hillbillies take to the stage, expect holiday tunes with a humorous twist and maybe even a singalong.

Of course, the Jingle Jangle Jamboree is also the place in Disneyland park where youngsters can meet Santa Claus himself and whisper their hearts’ desires into his ear, right up until he departs on Christmas Eve. When Santa visits the Jingle Jangle Jamboree, you’ll find him in a place of honor alongside a sparkling Christmas tree, surrounded by homespun holiday trimmings.

The Jingle Jangle Jamboree promises to be the perfect spot to celebrate the spirit of the season in a warm-hearted way as big as all outdoors!

Which characters are going to be available for meet-and-greets at the Jingle Jangle Jamboree? Will Horace Horsecollar, Clarabelle Cow, Clara Cluck and the Country Bears return to the Ranch for the occassion?

Shawn Slater on November 6th, 2012 at 2:24 pm

Philip – While some of those characters made special appearances last summer at the Jamboree, during the holidays you’ll get to meet Santa and classic Disney characters like Pluto and Chip n’ Dale.

Julie on November 6th, 2012 at 2:00 pm

Yeah, so excited for this! We love going to the Jamboree and enjoyed the Villians there for Halloween. Can’t wait to go see it decorated for Christmas with Santa. Does this mean Santa will no longer be in the little house by the petting zoo? Thank you for continuing the festivities at the Jamboree!

Shawn Slater on November 6th, 2012 at 2:12 pm

Julie – That’s right. He’s moving back into the Jamboree area.

Melissa on November 6th, 2012 at 2:36 pm

We will be going to Disneyland 1/2 – 1/5. Will Santa still be there during this time?

Shawn Slater on November 6th, 2012 at 3:53 pm

Sorry, Melissa, but no. Santa is scheduled to make appearances at the resort through Dec. 24, then he’s off for his big night of gift giving and a well-deserved vacation! You’ll still be able to enjoy most of the other holiday entertainment, though, through Jan. 6.

Dale on November 6th, 2012 at 3:53 pm

A little elf told me the reindeers aren’t coming with Santa and Mrs. Claus to the Ranch anymore. Is this true? I’ve always looked forward to seeing these amazing creatures up close for the holidays. I hope they decide to bring them back.

Shawn Slater on November 6th, 2012 at 5:38 pm

Sorry, Dale, but the reindeer will be staying at the North Pole this year, preparing for the holidays.

Melissa on November 6th, 2012 at 4:14 pm

I’m with Dale!! The reindeer are such a magical part of Christmas!

Sarah on November 6th, 2012 at 7:18 pm

It’s wonderful to hear all this. Though I know we’ll all miss the reindeer, I know the jamboree’s gonna be great! It reminds me of how the ranch used to be when I was little, before the restaurant came along. Will Farley the Fiddler still be making appearances? (: °o°

Shawn Slater on November 6th, 2012 at 8:17 pm

Sarah – Yep! Farley’s definitely scheduled to be fiddlin’ around this holiday season.

Emily from CA on November 7th, 2012 at 5:35 pm

The reindeer were one of my favorite parts of Christmas in Disneyland! So sad to hear they won’t be there :'(

Abby on November 7th, 2012 at 8:04 pm

Ahhh! We can’t wait to join in special holiday at Disneyland Resort! I will go disneyland 12/29-1/2 with my friends. I’m so sad that we can’t meet Santa Claus… However, can we meet any other disney characters at Big Thunder Ranch during my trip?

Shawn Slater on November 8th, 2012 at 9:22 am

Abby – You’ll be able to meet classic characters like Pluto or Chip n’ Dale at the Jingle Jangle Jamboree during your visit, and don’t forget all the other characters waiting to meet you throughout the parks! Donald Duck and Duffy the Disney Bear are wearing special holiday outfits over at Disney California Adventure. You can join in Phineas and Ferb’s Rockin’ Rollin’ Dance Party – Holiday Edition, and some of our newest friends like Wreck-It Ralph and frost fairy Periwinkle are there, too!

Christopher on November 7th, 2012 at 8:18 pm

when is this coming to Disney World??

Shawn Slater on November 8th, 2012 at 9:25 am

Christopher – The Jingle Jangle Jamboree is exclusive to Disneyland Park, but there are lots of special holiday happenings at the Walt Disney World Resort: The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Holidays Around the World and the Candlelight Processional at Epcot, Mickey’s Jingle Jungle Parade and characters in holiday outfits at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and all the fun of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in Magic Kingdom Park.

Jenny on November 12th, 2012 at 5:29 am

can you please clarify: Santa will be at Disneyland’s jingle jamboree through the end of the day Christmas Eve? Is there a certain time he must leave for the North Pole? Or will he be leaving at the close of business Christmas Eve?

Shawn Slater on November 12th, 2012 at 10:41 am

Jenny – Santa will be making appearances only during the operating hours of the Jingle Jangle Jamboree itself ( or the in-park Times Guide will have those details closer to time). I wouldn’t recommend waiting until the last minute, though. You wouldn’t want to miss him, and besides… the elves are going to need time to fulfill your request and get it on the sleigh!
