Now that I’ve given you a sneak peek at Disney-exclusive Port Adventures in Venice and Turkey, I’d like to tell you about what we’re developing in Rome for our 2013 summer in the Mediterranean.
Whether you’ve visited Rome before or not, these Port Adventures are a great way to visit the Eternal City…Disney-style! We’ve tailored the experiences for both families and adults – and the seasoned Rome traveler.
For families…
Highlights of Rome for Families Featuring Exclusive Youth Activity: Families can explore highlights of the Eternal City together, including the Vatican, St. Peter’s Basilica and the Colosseum. In the gardens of Villa Borghese, kids can join Disney Cruise Line youth counselors for a traditional Italian puppet show, giving parents an opportunity to stroll in the park, visit nearby shows or take a break and enjoy a glass of Italian wine.
For adults…
Roman Art – Mosaic Experience: During this adult-exclusive experience, art enthusiasts will have time to explore Rome, checking out incredible mosaic art examples in the Vatican and St. Peter’s Basilica. Then, they can try their hand at creating their own mosaic masterpiece while enjoying some of Italy’s finest wine and cheeses.
For seasoned Rome travelers…
San Clemente Basilica Underground and Galleria Borghese: If you’ve visited Rome before and are looking for new sites to explore inside the Eternal City, this adventure is for you! The San Clemente Basilica gives guests a glimpse into the past, as underneath the church are two underground floors that represent different eras of the city’s history. The Galleria Borghese features one of Rome’s premier art collections, assembled and displayed in the private residence of the Borghese family.
