Today is the the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room. And this week’s celebration on the Disney Parks Blog included new themed header images, a fun 50th anniversary blog logo and some amazing stories and images.
Erin also introduced us to the Tiki gods of the Enchanted Tiki Garden. These wooden residents of the garden outside the Enchanted Tiki Room were based on legends of the South Pacific and a few of our own Disney Legends even worked on them. To learn more, visit Erin’s original Tiki story.
Also this week, we officially reopened the Main Street Bakery at Magic Kingdom Park – a favorite stop for many Disney Parks Blog readers. Main Street Bakery is now serving Disney cookies, brownies and cupcakes to Magic Kingdom Park guests. Starbucks offerings include coffee and espresso beverages and Frappuccino® blended beverages, as well as breakfast sandwiches and pastries. We’ve added a gallery of photos from the location for you to check out this weekend.
Here are some of the other stories we worked on during the week.
