Learning to ‘Hang 10’ at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park

posted on August 30th, 2013 by Jennifer Fickley-Baker, Editorial Content Manager

Have you ever tried surf lessons at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park?

The park offers group surf lessons at the Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool, which take place in the morning just before the park opens to regular guests. Each Learn to Surf session includes some training on land first, and then it’s off to the waves.

Check out the video below for a look inside the experience. Looks like fun!

OMG! In never knew you could do this at Typhoon Lagoon! This is more unexpected magic that just amazes me. Just when I think I know everything there is for my family to do in the Disney Parks I learn about something new and even more magical we need to try! I am going to have to check this out on our next trip…and I’ll tell them you sent me Jennifer!

I’ve been surfing for over a decade, but I’m really not into shipping my surfboard if I’m only going to surf one or two days on a trip. If my friends and I do the private evening surf sessions, would we be able to rent boards at Typhoon Lagoon? Thanks!
