Villainous Tees and Pockets of Disney Character Coming to Disney Parks This Fall

posted on August 13th, 2013 by Steven Miller, Merchandise Communications Manager

Villainous Tees and Pockets of Disney Character Coming to Disney Parks This Fall, Including Maleficent and Oswald the Lucky Rabbit

I recently gave you a look at a new Disney character-infused Cover Your Ears as part of “Limited Time Magic.” This reversible Mouse ear hat wrap features approximately 95 Disney heroes and villains, and is part of our Year of the Ear celebration (by the way, limited quantities of the wrap remain at Mad Hatter in Disneyland park at the Disneyland Resort, and Chapeau Hat Shoppe in Magic Kingdom Park at the Walt Disney World Resort). This wrap inspired me to look for other new Disney character apparel. I fortunately didn’t have to go far as the softlines team is located by my office. I learned they have a few new shirts arriving for the fall season that I think you will love.

Villainous Tees and Pockets of Disney Character Coming to Disney Parks This Fall, Including Ursula, Cruella de Vil and the Wicked Queen from 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs'

The women’s apparel team has four new Disney villain shirts which feature Maleficent, Ursula, Cruella de Vil and the wicked Queen from Walt Disney’s “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.” The sketch-style artwork was created by Disney Design Group artist Casey Jones (of recent Haunted Mansion shirt fame).

In Florida, the shirts will be coming to Tren-D in Downtown Disney Marketplace and Beverly Sunset in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. In California, look for the shirts at World of Disney in Downtown Disney District in California.

Pocket Tees for Men Coming to Disney Parks This Fall

For men, there are five new pocket tees that follow a popular trend currently in the marketplace. The tees were designed by Disney artists Doug Strayer and Colin Breaud, and feature decorated (and functional) pockets on solid color shirts.

I was excited to see that Oswald the Lucky Rabbit (shown at top) made the cut. The two tees in the bottom row (shown above) were inspired by colorful and popular artwork originally created for 40th Anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort. I love the simplicity of these designs and I think they will be perfect with a pair of jeans or shorts.

Look for the pocket tees in a variety of locations at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts.

OSWALD!!! Love it!

Nikki on August 13th, 2013 at 9:44 am

Does this mean that Villains n Vogue will have more items!!!!

Steven Miller on August 13th, 2013 at 10:53 am

@Nikki – You are correct! :-)

Traci from TX on August 13th, 2013 at 10:08 am

Hi, Steven! While these new shirts are great, I would really like to have more information about the upcoming line of Disney Vera Bradley bags. How soon can we expect to see an update with styles, pricing, release date, etc.?! I. Can’t. Wait.
Thanks so much for all that you do! I love reading your posts!

Dakota on August 13th, 2013 at 10:33 am

Will there be one with Scar on it? He’s my favorite villain and I feel very under-rated.

Steven Miller on August 13th, 2013 at 10:53 am

@Dakota – I’ve not seen any specific shirts created with Scar. I’ll have to keep my eyes open for you.

Alison on August 13th, 2013 at 10:44 am

First I was thrilled, I saw Oswald and I love Oswald. Then I saw the title of the post and was upset that Oswald was considered a villain! Then I realized oh good two different tee lines! I am so glad that Oswald keeps getting more love. I am at the parks regularly and always hi five or shout out to the fellow Oswald lovers! I might have to put the pocket tee on my Christmas wish list!

Steven Miller on August 13th, 2013 at 10:57 am

@Alison – My apologies for any confusion. I didn’t mean to imply Oswald the Lucky Rabbit was a villain; he is not. I meant there are new Villainous tees AND tees with Disney characters on pockets. Glad you like the shirts.

Dinah on August 13th, 2013 at 10:51 am

I saw the Maleficent shirt yesterday at World of Disney, and my heart stopped. It is so unbelievably perfect!! Love it.

Leigh on August 13th, 2013 at 10:52 am

These new shirts are wonderful. Please say you will be providing them in Women’s Plus Sizes as well as the traditional sizes….TRUE women’s plus sizes n(3X, 4X and 5X) , not XXL, XXXL as in Men’s cut.
I know of so many who would love to purchase the shirts, but you don’t offer tees in these sizes.
Just saying – you’d make a lot of women out there very, very happy!

Steven Miller on August 14th, 2013 at 10:24 am

@Leigh – Thank you for the feedback. I will share it with the softlines team. At this time, the sizes we will offer for the Villains shirts will range from XS – 2XL.

Corene from BC on August 13th, 2013 at 11:43 am

Yay! Oswald! But Steven, when will there be Oswald shirts in children’s sizes? My husband & I both have tees, and my son has the Oswald ears, but our last 2 trips to Disneyland in the past 9 months, we haven’t seen a single tee with Oswald in kids sizes. My son is the one who introduced us to Oswald via Epic Mickey, and he’d really like a tee. We keep asking at Oswald’s Gas in Buena Vista Street & they keep saying they are hearing there will be some, but nothing ever seems to materialize (at least not when we’re there). We’ll be back again in a few weeks. Fingers crossed! Please tell the “powers that be” that kids love Oswald too! Thanks Steven!

Steven Miller on August 14th, 2013 at 10:25 am

@Corene – Glad to meet another Oswald the Lucky Rabbit fan. I don’t know of plans to offer the pocket tees in kids sizes. I know there is a relatively new Oswald shirt at Disney California Adventure. I saw it in late June on Buena Vista Street. The shirt is also pictured in this article:

Dale from MD on August 13th, 2013 at 11:54 am

I wish the Maleficent shirt was also in Men’s!

Jordan on August 13th, 2013 at 12:17 pm

Love them….only wish the Divas were in Gender Neutral style shirts cause I’m a man that loves the bad girls!!

Steven Miller on August 14th, 2013 at 10:27 am

@Dale and Jordan – Thank you for the comments. I don’t know of plans at this time to offer these Disney Villain shirts for men. Sorry.

Jennifer on August 13th, 2013 at 12:34 pm

Jason on August 13th, 2013 at 12:55 pm

Why can’t guys be fans of villans? There’s never any shirts for us with the Evil Queen for example.

Or Pixie shirts just because you’re wearing a character doesn’t mean you are that character just that you’re a fan of that character.

Ryan on August 13th, 2013 at 11:08 pm

Well while I agree 100% with Jason (who doesn’t love a deliciously bad female villain?)- I would appreciate seeing even more “obscure” Villains that we may overlook.

I would especially appreciate seeing said merchandising (even the great pocket T’s) at the local Disney Store, where the adult fashion merchandising is severely lacking, especially for Men.

Adam on August 13th, 2013 at 11:33 pm

I agree with you !00%, Jason. I was reading this and couldn’t help but think “I WISH they would make a Maleficent shirt for guys.” Maybe with the upcoming movie, they will…

Andrea on August 14th, 2013 at 5:37 am

I was just at Disneyland this past weekend & seen the pocket t-shirts & are they COOL!!! Found at World of Disney in Downtown Disney but they were already out of sizes :( Can you please give me the SKU number for the Walt Disney pocket T-shirt & the Disneyland one? You’re the BEST! Thanks Steven! You have made my day!!!

Jason on August 14th, 2013 at 1:48 pm

I completely agree with several of the other guys who have posted here. I am a HUGE fan of the villains and would love any one of those shirts, why are they only made for women? Disney is really missing out on a whole market with this

Steven Miller on August 14th, 2013 at 3:09 pm

@Jason – Thank you for your comment. Please know that I’ve shared your feedback along with other similiar feedback with our development teams.

Corene from BC on August 14th, 2013 at 5:53 pm

Thanks for the link to the kids sized Oswald tee Steven! It’s perfect – my son’s favourite colour & has the DCA logo on the shoulder… he’ll love it! We’ll be picking that up when we arrive in a few weeks. Thanks again & keep up the good work!

Debra from NJ on August 15th, 2013 at 1:05 pm

Yay!! Thanks so much for the item number update Steven!!

Rochelle on August 15th, 2013 at 2:16 pm

More villains please! Might I suggest next time you mention the pocket Tees first so we won’t think Oswald is considered a villain, though?

Sandra on August 15th, 2013 at 11:13 pm

Corene from BC, the Oswald shirts for kids is in stock at DCA just saw them yesterday in the Elias & Co. store i the childrens department!

Gari on August 19th, 2013 at 7:48 pm

HI. Will there ever be Disney Villain Dooney and Bourke purses? I love Dooney and love Disney.

Carolyn on August 31st, 2013 at 10:12 pm

Any idea what date these will be available? We will be visiting Disneyland October 10th.
