Is It a Croissant? Is It a Donut? Try a Taste at Epcot

The celebrity sweet of 2014 is yours for the tasting at Epcot – the hot, fried sensation that’s a cross between a croissant and a donut, this version from the talented pastry chefs at Epcot.


“It’s sweet, it’s warm, it’s deep fried and topped with cinnamon and sugar,” says Epcot Executive Chef Jens Dahlmann. “Simply delicious.”

Grab a hot cup of coffee or tea for dunking. Cost is $4.49 (and counts as a snack on the Disney Dining Plan), and they’re only available at one spot – Refreshment Port, on the right side as you enter World Showcase. And this isn’t just a holiday sweet, Dahlmann says they’ll be on the menu indefinitely.

You started off saying it’s “The celebrity sweet of 2014″ but then mention it’s not “just a holiday sweet”. Does that mean they are selling them now?

I have always wanted to taste one (I’ve seen people raving about them on TV)…and now I can! Can’t wait for my trip to WDW in March! When I get to EPCOT, I’ll be heading straight for Refreshment Port!

I’m in MI, but my brother and his family are in Epcot today! I will be there in January. I just texted them and asked them to get one of these today and take video of them eating it so I can live vicariously through them! Looks SO yummy!!!! I can’t wait to try one myself!!!

Is there anyway to get them made to order with out the cinnamon? I cant have cinnamon but would love to try them.

It’s not listed on the Refreshment Port menu as of today, so have no idea what its officially called.

We have plans on going back to Disney World next year. Haven’t decided which DVC resort yet…but will try this new item and always go to the French Bakery at Epcot..more then once during our stay.

Had one last night at Epcot. Wow it was good. Fresh, hot, flaky. If we hadn’t had dinner reservations elsewhere, I probably would have had several more and called it a night. Glad to hear it’s on the menu to stay (for now)!

Oh, and to answer the questions above, they’re officially called “Croissant Doughnut” according to the sign.

These sound real good, will have to try one on my next Florida trip if they are still around. Not the same as the original ones in New York as I understand they are filled with Cream and these aren’t but they still sound like a nice dessert treat.
