Disney Ships Receive Top Recognition from Cruisers

posted on February 26th, 2014 by Rebecca Peddie, Manager of Public Affairs at Disney Cruise Line

Are we blushing? The Cruise Critic Cruisers’ Choice awards were announced today, and Disney ships received 29 awards, including 13 number one awards such as Best Overall, Best for Families, Best Service, Best Dining and Entertainment, Best Cabins and Public Rooms for the Disney Fantasy in the Large Ship category. These are the most awards we have ever received at a single time.

In addition, all four Disney ships were recently ranked among the top cruise ships in the world on the Condé Nast Traveler 2014 Readers’ Choice list, claiming four of the top five spots in the Best Large Cruise Ships category. The recently re-imagined Disney Magic was also awarded Porthole Cruise Magazine’s 2014 Editor-in-Chief Award for Best Makeover.

Everyone here at Disney Cruise Line is thrilled that families enjoy our crew, our ships and overall cruise experience so much. What’s your favorite “best thing” about a Disney cruise?

There are so many awesome things about a Disney cruise, and I would have to say that my favorite “best thing” is the way they’ve perfected family time aboard the ship. We’re able to meet our kids in the Walt Disney Theatre for live shows or let them play the day away in the kids clubs while we have a romantic dinner or visit the spa. We can spend time with the kids around the pool and then have coffee together at Cove Cafe. There’s always the perfect balance of togetherness and it’s what makes DCL the only cruise line we choose to sail with.

I have to agree with there are many things to choose from but I have no small children my children are adults with that being said my daughter and I went on a 7 day cruise 2 years ago and the adult Entertainment crew member Trevor was great that was the second ship we had him on, we hope that they keep him as he really loves what he does. Disney Cruise is the only cruise my family will ever cruise with they know what they are doing. this year will be my 7th cruise with DCL with many more to come !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

My “best thing” about Disney Cruise is everything about disney cruise. There is something for everyone. We were on the Dream two years ago and we had such wonderful time. My son had the best time at the kids club and Castaway Cay is so beautiful. Congratulations Disney Cruise. Keep up the good work!

Since DCL is the only cruise line we’ve sailed, can’t really compare to others. BUT, we come back because we love the food, the staterooms with the split bathrooms, the food, the staff and crew, the atmosphere, and did I mention the food?? :) My husband and I just returned from a 5-night cruise and we really enjoyed it. This was our third time on the Wonder. Next time, we’d like to sail on the Fantasy or Dream just to see the big ship.

Congratulations on all your achievements! Well deserved!
