Walt Disney Imagineering Shares First Onboard Video of Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at Magic Kingdom Park

posted on February 24th, 2014 by Jennifer Fickley-Baker, Social Media Manager

Just minutes ago, Walt Disney Imagineering released a new video of Seven Dwarfs Mine Train during our live chat with Imagineer Dave Minichiello – and we wanted to be sure you didn’t miss it.

In the video, we compare onboard footage of the attraction side-by-side with an original CGI onboard that was created early on in the attraction’s development.

Stay tuned for more updates on Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

Hi, we’ll be at Disney World next year (2015). My oldest one will be 3 years old by then. Will she be able to ride the Seven Dwarfs mine train?? She really loves Snow White and the Heigh-ho song!

Jennifer Fickley-Baker on February 25th, 2014 at 8:51 am

As long as she meets the height requirement of 38 inches. :)

Lisa from LA on February 25th, 2014 at 9:11 am

Is there an opening date set yet? We are going the week of March 8-15, 2014 and would love this to be open.

Jennifer Fickley-Baker on February 25th, 2014 at 9:18 am

The attraction opens this spring, but an exact date has yet to be announced. Please keep checking back.

Susan on February 25th, 2014 at 10:10 am

This is exciting! We’ll be there in October, so it will be open at that time…

Sarah on February 25th, 2014 at 11:21 am

I’m like Lisa – Hoping it will be open early March – pretty please?

This one looks like a great one to ride at night! The lights are so pretty!

Jennifer Fickley-Baker on February 25th, 2014 at 12:41 pm

I agree! Looks like it will be fun to ride at night and during the day for the great views. We hope to have more information on opening shortly.

Is this similar to Big Thunder Mountain? We come with a friend in a wheelchair and she can’t use her legs to step down, up , over, into, across or anything other than to transfer laterally from her chair. She could ride if we could get her on without having to lift her which is very awkward and uncomfortable for her. We love the rides where she can stay in her chair but roller coasters don’t usually fit that.

Celebrating our 10 year anniversary at WDW in May; here’s hoping it’ll be on track (excuse the pun) and rolling by then!

Jennifer Fickley-Baker on February 25th, 2014 at 12:41 pm

Best wishes for a happy celebration!

Holly on February 25th, 2014 at 12:34 pm

I love the way it looks at night- my favorite thing is to ride Big Thunder at night and see how gorgeous the park is- love that there will be another coaster to do this on!!! visiting MK next week but will be back in September to ride it!!

Jennifer Fickley-Baker on February 27th, 2014 at 9:05 am

Me too! This will offer great views of the park!

!!!!!!

Jennifer Fickley-Baker on February 27th, 2014 at 7:45 pm

I can’t wait to share that post, too, Katie!

Patty from FL on February 27th, 2014 at 5:42 pm

I know there is not a date yet, but do we at least have a month?

Does this qualify as an excuse for keeping the kids out of school and going to MK instead? I love be able to drive an hour to WDW.

I volunteer myself and kids to be test riders. My kids have that Disney 411 and 365 stuff down!

James on February 27th, 2014 at 6:05 pm

I’m so excited to see this preview, especially the stunning views! I can only imagine what it will be like after the Disney Magic is added! I’m curious if the Evil Queen will be making an appearance!

It would be nice if there was a email alert so we could know the opening date when it is announced. We will be arriving the 5th of April and leaving the 13th.

25

Robert on February 28th, 2014 at 10:32 am

Looks great! I suspect it will have a fast pass option. We are coming in June with our grandson and staying at Saratoga. When should we request fast passes under the new system?

26

Cheryl on February 28th, 2014 at 3:29 pm

Looks fabulous…but the movie is only over a minute…is the ride that quick? How long is the ride?

27
