Beautifully Disney Makeup Tutorial: Pop of Minnie Lipstick

posted on March 11th, 2014 by Michelle Harker, Manager, Merchandise Marketing & Communications, Disneyland Resort

Recently, I introduced the first in a series of Beautifully Disney makeup tutorials for Disney Parks, offering you tips and tricks for using some of our favorite items. I’m excited to bring to you the next tutorial, which introduces a brand-new product that launched with the Pop of Minnie collection — our mini lipsticks. These creamy lipsticks are great to wear alone or layered under your favorite Beautifully Disney lip gloss, adding a glamorous finish.

For those of us who are a little more subtle about showing our Disney Side, Disneyland Resort Cosmetologist, Daniella, demonstrates how to bring a dash of Disney to your everyday beauty routine. Check it out!

Daniella applied Fierce, a pigmented, long-wearing red lipstick from the Pop of Minnie collection.

Tip: For a more even application of your lip color, exfoliate your lips with a damp washcloth or your favorite lip buffer, and apply a light layer of lip balm as a base before application. Apply a layer of your color evenly. Then, gently blot with a tissue and apply another layer of color for extra staying power. Bold colors can be tricky to apply, so our beauty experts recommend using a lip brush for a more precise application.

The lipstick set is available now at select locations throughout the Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts, and will be offered online shortly.

Which shade from the Pop of Minnie collection would you like to try? Let me know!

Love the colors. I love wearing lipstick, but always find it a challenge to keep it staying on which is why I don’t wear it as often as I would like. Any tips for someone like me!

Hi Ann! The colors are really great, I’m glad you like them. Here are a couple tips that we have found that I’m hoping will work for you!

Start by exfoliating your lips, then apply a moderate to heavy coat of your desired lipstick. Take a tissue and blot the color until it becomes a nice light base stain (creating a type of primer), then re-apply your lipstick over top. That should help increase the staying power.

There are lip primers in the market, that you can always try under your choice of lipstick, however the tip above provides a similar effect. Hope that helps.

The colors are great. My teenaged daughter would flip for them. I’m going to have to show her this video. Thanks for sharing it with us!

Hi Janet! I hope your daughter enjoys the video and is able to check out the colors in person, sometime soon.

I love this collection and I’m so glad the two things I wanted got tutorials. However I’ve been trying to find the kabuki brush, why is it not online?
