Absolutely LOVE the Cherry Blossom artwork. I can’t wait to run through them in DC in a week during the Cherry Blossom 10 Miler. Would be awesome to get a copy of that to commemorate!

Hi there I have 2 questions about the Rebel Rendezvous link you mentioned
•1) When is the pin trading night going to be in April, Since in previous years they have had a great sneal peak at the exciting merchandise that will be available for Star Wars Weekends at it?

•2) Still looking for more information on other new mechandise that will be available during Star Wars weekends that is NOT limited edition and not shown in the Rebels Catalog as we are still trying to figure out if the $250 per non refundable ticket will be worth the extra $$ to attend or just wait till the Friday like normal.

Hi Kat!
The next Trading Night at the Walt Disney World Resort will take place April 22 in the ESPN Wide World of Sports Grill Restaurant area, adjacent to the lobby. Unfortunately I don’t know if they will have any of the Star Wars Weekends merchandise to share or not.

As for some of the other Star Wars Weekend merchandise that will debut, I believe my fellow friend and Disney Parks Blog author, Steven Miller will be sharing details soon. What’s nice about the Rebel Rendezvous event is that not only do you get the first opportunity to buy merchandise that would normally debut on the first day, but there are actually items that you can only get if you attend the hard ticket event.

I was so excited to read there is a trading event on April 22nd, as it coincides with our trip. My teenage daughter loves to collect and trade pins, and I would very much like to take her to this event. As we have never been to a trading event, I am wondering how early should we plan to arrive? Thank you!

Hi Michelle,

My kids and I attended our first trading night yesterday. thanks for the heads up. I had researched a bit and realized that because of the Elsa pin being sold we needed to arrive early in order to be guaranteed a pin. We showed up at 10AM (yes the event didn’t start till 6pm) just to be on the safe side. I was worried how my kids would handle a long day of waiting, but Disney handled the event very well. Kudos to the organizers. They handed out wristbands, and everything ran pretty smooth in my opinion. My kids had a BLAST!! They met new people, made new friends, traded pins and vinylmations. The smiles on their faces were priceless. Thank goodness since I let them play hooky from school for the experience :). THEN it happened! We purchased our pins. I put my sons an mine in the same bag and he had them in hand. We walked around the trading area and at some point he set the bag down. Oh the horror on his face when he realized what had happened. My heart broke as I saw the look on his face and the tears in his eyes. We never did find the bag and of course no one turned it in, but I write this to tell you how wonderful the Disney CM’s were during the entire ordeal. Especially the security team (Richie and ?). They walked with my son and daughter looking everywhere asking people they spoke with and I could tell that they were as distraught as we were. Everyone tried to help. Even cast members that were off duty. I wish I knew all their names to properly recognize them all. In the end we went home without the pins and a loss of $80, but the last encounter of the night was an off duty CM who didn’t make it in time to purchase any special pins. However after hearing our story, she traded my son two pins and simply gave him two others. Thank goodness for the great CM’s because they made a terrible siutation managable for this mom. Just thought I would share :)
