Top Five: Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Videos from Walt Disney Imagineering

posted on April 17th, 2014 by Jennifer Fickley-Baker, Editorial Content Manager

With the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train opening later this spring, this week we thought we’d review some of the best video content we’ve shared so far around this attraction.

Just to review, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train was Inspired by the 1937 Disney animated film “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” – but unlike Magic Kingdom Park’s original Snow White’s Scary Adventures attraction, this new experience tells the tale from the dwarfs’ perspective. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is a family coaster with a ‘38-inch height requirement, and will be the final attraction to debut in New Fantasyland as a part of the park’s multi-year New Fantasyland expansion.

Over the past few months, we’ve released several videos that offer looks inside the making of the attraction. Check out some of our favorites below.

  1. Check out a ride-through video of the attraction, which is shown side-by-side with an early CGI rendering that Imagineers used to help design the attraction’s track.

  2. Take a peek inside the attraction for a first look at the Dwarfs and the technology used to bring them to life.

  3. Yellow Shoes Creative Group shared this CGI video of Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

  4. Take a look behind the scenes to see how Walt Disney Imagineering created ride vehicles for the attraction.

  5. Head onto the construction site with Imagineers Dave Minichiello and Pam Rawlins to learn more about how Mine Train was constructed.

you know people are getting frustrated with you even thought we all know you’re sweet as a peach. We JUST WANT the opening date of this ride so we can plan our trips “later this spring”.

I’m on the edge of my seat waiting for the April 30th so I can see this in person! Hoping for at least a DVC preview or soft openings while I am there in 2 weeks! :)

Seriously, enough with the teasers. We are all excited, now just tell us what we want to know, please.

I’m so sad that this probably won’t be open or have any soft openings while I’m in Florida, as my trip ends ON april 30th :( I tried to push back the family trip dates so we would catch this ride when it opened. I want to cry a little

The amount of coverage on this site for this attraction would be overkill for news covering the opening of a fifth park at WDW.

I happen to LOVE the teasers; I always look for them here and, well basically any where online. We won’t be able to visit the Kingdom until 2015, so I’ll take what I can get!!

Anthony on April 18th, 2014 at 11:09 am

So if this is the story from the Dwarfs perspectives, will we see Snow White or the Wicked Queen?

Gordon from TX on April 18th, 2014 at 12:35 pm

Have our fingers and toes crossed that it will be before we arrive at the World in 3 weeks……although we have a fall back plan for 26 weeks from now…..

Nicolette on April 21st, 2014 at 10:00 am

I will be there June 14th! I am so excited!

Yes we do need a opening date! Me and my other half are staying in Disney from 4th-25th May. Coming from UK. Had family really looking forwards to riding seven dwarfs mine train over Christmas period and My sister stayed over in February. At least 1 of the 3 groups of us should get to ride seven dwarfs mine train. Really looking forwards to it and not only that we have spent a lot of money to come over to have a disappointment. It will be my 4th time in Disney and my partners 1st time. so please please please don’t let me down. 12 sleeps lol. :)
