Vintage Walt Disney World: It’s Off To Work We Go

posted on April 3rd, 2014 by Nate Rasmussen, Archivist, Marketing Resource Center

Heigh-ho! Today is “Don’t Go To Work Unless It’s Fun” Day, and while I think I have a pretty fun job, I would love to spend a day in the mines with a certain seven guys. Here’s a look at the Seven Dwarfs with Snow White at Magic Kingdom Park from 1971.

Soon enough, we’ll all get to ride through the mines when Seven Dwarfs Mine Train opens in New Fantasyland later this year!

Stop teasing us! I am rather impatiently waiting to hear an opening date ;) I’ll be there 4/29 – 5/12… what are the odds I get a chance to be one of the first riders???? Ahhhhh – the suspense!

“Later this year”? Does that mean the Spring 2014 opening has been delayed?

Sheri– they can still tease us for quite a while; spring technically doesn’t end until June 20 this year!

REALLY hope I can get to FL this year, for the first time since I was about 7 or 8. It’s this ride, plus the Fantasyland expansion, that is pushing me over the brink!

I really, really hope it is open while I am there 4/30-5/11! I’ve been waiting for what feels like FOREVER for it to open. Later this year sounds like it won’t be open until Fall :(

The Magic Kingdom is hosting a preview event from April 30- May 2. That doesn’t mean the attraction will officially open on those dates, but that gives us a much better idea than “later this year.”
