Last week, we began preparing for the Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration, coming spring 2015, by inviting our fans to share your favorite memories from the past 60 years of the Disneyland Resort for a chance to win a trip to the celebration kick-off. We started by asking for your memories from the 1950s … now we want to see your memories from the 1960s!
Lots of magic was made in the 1960s here at the Disneyland Resort. Were you a part of it? Do you have a photo of yourself at the opening of the Haunted Mansion? Pirates of the Caribbean? Or maybe at one of my favorite quirky Disneyland events … “Love Bug” Day in 1969? Share your swinging 1960s memories with us! Of course, you’re welcome to share your favorite memories with photos taken throughout any of the Disneyland Decades – 1950s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and 2000 to the present – as well. And please be sure to include the decade in your entry description!
Here’s how it works:
- Each week, we’ll be asking for your special photo memories from a specific decade. (Regardless of the weekly decade inspiration, you can share a favorite photo from any of the decade periods between now and August 27, 2014.)
- To enter, post your photos on Twitter or Instagram, using the hashtag #Disneyland60Contest by August 27, 2014, and make sure to let us know the decade in which the photo was taken in the description or tweet.
When the submission period is complete, we’ll select the top five photos from each decade, and Disney Parks Blog readers will vote for the top photo from each of the Disneyland Decades. Each decade winner will receive a special Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration prize. Then, we’ll give you the chance to vote for one Grand Prize winner from among the winners of each decade. This lucky fan will win a trip to the start of the Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration in spring 2015!

Can you clarify this rule for me: “Must be the sole, exclusive and original work of the Entrant.” What if we don’t know who took these decades-old photos? Thanks!

My son works in parking at Disneyland. Does that disqualify me from the contest?
i have photos from disney world in the 1980s and i have disneyland in the 1990s
I don’t have a scanner right now, but I have the pic. Is it OK to take a cheesy camera phone pic of it for the time being? Also, what if my Instagram is private? I know in other contests that deters me from entering….thanks!

That photo of the woman with the crazy hat in the boat is my mother. I would love to know where you found that photo and maybe even who took it? She remembers that day and that dress.
My parents honeymooned at Disneyland in the 60’s! I hope they have some pictures.
