Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party returned to Magic Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World Resort on September 1, 2014. This fun Halloween-themed event runs select nights from 7:00 p.m. to midnight through October 31. I’ve attended the event a few times during my time with Disney. It’s fantastic! I love that so many guests dress in costume and the entertainment is outstanding (okay, I’m also a big fan of the candy). This year, guests should look for some commemorative items created especially for this event, including apparel, pins, and, for the first time, a limited-edition graphic MagicBand.

Presented in a decorative box, the limited-edition graphic MagicBand will include the event logo. It will have an edition size of 5,000 and will retail for $29.95 (plus tax). Guests must present one of the following for the MagicBand to be linked to at the time of purchase: valid theme park admission, Memory Maker card or an active MagicBand.

Guests attending the event will also find a few apparel items for adults and kids, including both long and short sleeved options plus a ladies’ cut T-shirt. A slightly altered event logo was used for the limited-release pin.

Speaking of pins, guests should look for a couple of different things, including individual limited-edition pins (Chip ‘n’ Dale with Clarice is my favorite), a boxed set, a framed set, and a limited-release mystery pin set.

One final item wasn’t created specifically for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party but I thought it was perfectly themed for the event. It’s a limited release, graphic MagicBand that contains the infamous wallpaper from the Haunted Mansion attraction (retail is $24.95 plus tax). This item will also have to be linked at the time of purchase just like the aforementioned limited-edition graphic MagicBand.

Please visit the following Magic Kingdom Park locations to find these products:

Please note the Haunted Mansion-themed graphic MagicBand will only be sold at Magic Kingdom Park at this time. Guests do not have to attend Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in order to purchase it.

Comments

  • Steve, I am attending Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party on Halloween Night! Is there any way to know if the limited edition Magic Bands have sold out? I would really want to find one for me during the party but am not too hopeful. Thank you!

  • my halloween trip to disney is in october. Is there anyway to order the halloween pins before I get there?

  • I have a friend who is going to the MNSSHP in a week. I have my trip planned for late October. Can i give her my magicband to purchase a party band in case they are sold out when i go.

  • Thank you for all the valuable information, Steve. We are leaving tomorrow and going to Sunday night’s MNSSHP. Can’t wait to get all the cool party merchandise.

  • Do I have to buy a regular Magic Kingdom Ticket to go to the MNSSHP, or not, only the party ticket is ok?

  • I luv he pins and wristband. I attended the 9/1/14 halloween party and didn’t see these until now. Is there anyway to order the pins and wristbands if you still have your electonic copy of the ticket from the halloween party?

  • I have a question regarding the Haunted Mansion Magic Band, could I purchase it now even though I am unsure when my next Disney trip will be? Thanks so much!

    • @Vanessa – You can purchase the MagicBand as long as you have present one of the following at the time of purchase in the location: valid theme park admission, Memory Maker card or an active MagicBand.

There currently isn’t an option to link graphic (pre-printed) MagicBands. You can manage which MagicBands are active in the My Profile section of http://www.MyDisneyExperience.com.

  • I am wondering about the sizes of shirts they have available for sale. Do they only go to XL or 2XL? I will be at the party on the 23rd and want to be sure they carry the size I need. And if they don’t, is there a way to get larger sizes?

    • @Cori – It appears the largest size shirts that we offer in select styles is 3XL.

  • Hi Steven! I have a question pertaining to the article written on 08-06 by Michelle Harker. My question is—the tangled web collection Mirror (which reminds me of Halloween) was to be released at Disney Parks & on line at the end of summer but I have not been able to find it online. Could you please give me the sku number so that I may order one.

    Thanks Much,
    Andrea

    • @Andrea – That’s a great question. I checked in our system but don’t see it currently available. I’ll have to ask the team. Stay tuned.

  • How Much is the long sleeve black shirt? Also how small do the kids shirts come?

    • @Chad – Retail is $31.95 for the long sleeve shirt. The smallest shirt side for kids is extra-small.

  • wow….I am going to WDW and the halloween party at the end of the month and I just got my magic bands in the mail and they are the solid color ones. Too bad. By the I time I get there I bet the halloween ones will be sold out since anyone with a ticket at WDW can buy one.

    • @Susan – I hope you have a wonderful trip. The limited edition MagicBand for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is only being sold during the parties. So Guests must have a ticket to a particular party in order to purchase. The Haunted Mansion MagicBand is limited release and is available in select locations at Magic Kingdom Park. Guests do not have to attend the Halloween Parties in order to purchase. I hope this information is helpful. :)

  • Does the womens cut MNSSHP T-shirt come in Green as well as the black?

    • @Kathleen – The green shirt does not have a women’s cut.

  • Are the limited edition magic bands released all at once during the first party or some held back up till last party?

    • @Jason – As far I know, all items are released at the beginning of the parties. They are available until sold out.

  • What are the prices of the T Shirts? Are the different styles and colors available in all sizes???

    • @Maureen – Shirts range in price from $24.95 to $32.95. There are green shirts for adults and kids (no women’s cut). The black shirts have a men’s cut, women’s cut, kids, and long sleeve options.

  • I have my MagicBand that is linked to MyDisneyExperience from a recent trip but the tickets that were on it have been used; could I link that already existing account and Band to a new Haunted Mansion Band as it is or do I have to add a new ticket before I can add the new Band?

Also do you happen to know how long will the Haunted Mansion version of the MagicBand be available? My “Halloween trip” isn’t until the end of October.

    • @Jane – The Haunted Mansion MagicBand is a limited release item which means it will be available for a period of time.

From my understanding, you would need something new to link the Haunted Mansion MagicBand at time of purchase. Here is a link to the FAQ about MagicBands – https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/faq/bands-cards/

  • Will the Limited Edition magic band have any special effects like the Star Wars ones? They’re a little pricey, but I think it might be worth it if they have lighting/sound effects. :)

    • @Jennifer and Gillian – That’s a great question. I know that some limited edition graphic MagicBands may have special surprises (key word is “some”). If there are any associated with this MagicBand, I would prefer to keep some elements a delightful surprise (no spoilers :).

  • I just bought the olaf limited release magic band. You have to be there in person to purchase one. They won’t let you buy them for other people and you have to activate them as you purchase them.

  • Does the new Not so Scary Band have any special surprises like the Summer Olaf and Star Wars Bands?

  • Similar to Stephanie’s situation, I too attended last year’s party in late October when all of the pins (and shirts!) were sold out. I’m attending again this year around the same time…will any of this merchandise be available online ahead of time? I’ll be heartbroken if the pins and shirts are sold out for the second year in a row.

    • @Heather – Unfortunately, there are no plans to offer the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party merchandise online. I hope you have a safe trip.

  • I’m going to MNSSHP late October, and when I went last year during late October the MNSSHP pins were all sold out :( so we are going to Disney World this September, on the 19th, which is also the day of one of the events. I know you’re not allowed into the event without a ticket, but if I go into the park before the event starts and stay when it begins, only to buy the pin, will that be allowed?

    • @Stephanie – From my understanding, that wouldn’t be allowed. The merchandise is being released only for Guests who are attending the party. I’m sorry I don’t have better news.

  • LOVE THIS STUFF! Especially Clarice being on the pins. I wish she was at Walt Disney World, It would be the best thing ever. Every trip I still hope to see her there someday. Even on my Birthday Trip on September 28th I’ll still be hoping and searching ^^

  • @Louis – MagicBands are non-transferable, according to the website, so you’d probably want to have a piece of magic that belongs to your wife with you to buy her a Haunted Mansion MagicBand! Maybe her ticket, existing MagicBand, or an Annual Pass!

  • Looking forward to getting our magic bands for Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party when we arrive next week.

  • With the Haunted Mansion MagicBand being a “Limited Release” does that mean it is available for certain time or that there are a limited number of them?

    • @Matt – “Limited Release” relates to time versus “Limited Edition” which refers to a finite production number. The Haunted Mansion MagicBand is planned to be around for awhile.

  • How long will the Haunted Mansion magic bands be available? And are they transferrable?

I want to get my wife one, and will be traveling to Orlando later this month. I see you have to register them to your ticket, but I assume you can transfer the band to a different ticket?

    • @Louis – The Haunted Mansion MagicBand is a limited release item which means it will be carried for a period of time.

Unfortunately, MagicBands are not transferable. This FAQ may help answer some additional questions: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/faq/bands-cards/

  • This is SO COOL! My husband and I will be at the party on 9/9. I may just have to add this to my shopping list!

  • Can I use the ticket I got in to the party with as the valid theme park admission for magic band? I will only been in the park the night of the party. Also Will I be able to use the magic band for later trips next year?

    • @Samantha – You can use your ticket that night to link to the retail MagicBand.

Here is a link to an FAQ about MagicBands that may help answer some additional questions: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/faq/bands-cards/

According to the FAQ: “If you have a MagicBand or card that you like, and it is in working condition, you can continue to use it when you return to Walt Disney World Resort. If you have multiple MagicBands or cards, you can manage which ones are active in the MagicBand section of My Profile on MyDisneyExperience.com.

  • Thanks very much Steven! You all keep up the GREAT work at the Disney Parks Blog!

    • @Michael – Thank you for the kind words! :)

  • “Presented in a decorative box, the limited-edition graphic MagicBand will include the event logo. It will have an edition size of 5,000 and will retail for $29.95 (plus tax). Guests must present one of the following for the MagicBand to be linked to at the time of purchase: valid theme park admission, Memory Maker card or an active MagicBand.”

Does this mean that you can purchase this outside of the MNSSHP Event or must you, as rumored, have a ticket for this event? Thanks!

    • @Michael – I spoke with the development team. The retail MagicBand for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party will only be offered for sale during the parties in Emporium and Frontier Trading Post. So Guests would need a ticket to the event in order to purchase it (while supplies last). Guests must present one of the following for the MagicBand to be linked to at the time of purchase: valid theme park admission, Memory Maker card or an active MagicBand.
