Good morning from Cars Land! You have to be here pretty early in the morning to see a sight like this – the sun rising over Ornament Valley and the businesses along Route 66. But sometimes our guests do get to see the sunrise here … especially those who have braved 24 hours here at the Disneyland Resort during our special events the past few years. So, those of you who have seen it, tell me … where is your favorite spot to watch the sunrise here at the Disneyland Resort?

  • I have a picture from Christmas Eve 2013 of Sunrise over Paradise Pier that I took from our balcony at the Grand Californian.

  • You know, not to be contrary but since the “range” faces west, wouldn’t this be the sunset?

    • Hmmm. I took my photographer’s word for it, but just for the sake of peace … do you have a favorite place to watch the sunset? Also a good question! 🙂

  • My favorite sunrise would of had to been at Sleeping Beauty’s Castle in Disneyland!

  • One of the best sunrise-watching locations is from a DCA park view room at the Paradise Pier Hotel!

While staying at the PPH I have found myself awake at odd hours of the morning, and my first instinct is to rush to the window to see what’s happening in DCA. I have seen some of the most beautiful, vibrant sunrises from those windows. It’s as if the warm, golden rays bathe California Adventure in magical light, and the park suddenly comes alive to greet the exciting day ahead.

    • Well put, Sherry!

  • Good morning, Erin! I was there for One More Disney Day and watched the sun rise over Tomorrowland. The best, though, was seeing all the colors reflected on the castle. So beautiful! I haven’t been able to go to a 24-hour event since so that sunrise will always be one of my top favorite DLR moments.

    • Hi Dinah! That sounds awesome.
