During a behind-the-scenes media event at the Disneyland Resort yesterday, we shared a closer look at some of what is in store for the Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration, beginning May 22. In the video below, you’ll hear thoughts from Steve Davison, vice president of Parades and Spectaculars, Walt Disney Imagineering Creative Entertainment, on the new nighttime spectaculars currently in development … and watch to the end for your first look at the “Cars” story from the new “Paint the Night” parade!

Be sure to catch “World of Color: Celebrate!,” “Disneyland Forever” fireworks and “Paint the Night” parade, part of the Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration beginning May 22, and join the conversation with the hashtag #Disneyland60!

  • Awesome song choice with the custom version of Owl City’s “When Can I See You Again” for this celebration! 🙂 Makes me want to run to the parks right now. This Celebration looks fantastic. I love the big support for Made with Magic. I can’t wait to experience your new parade and the shows in person! Disneyland looks like the “it” Disney destination!

  • Can’t wait to see all this in December.

  • I’m not really a fan of most techno music, but the music featured in this clip sounds pretty good.

  • Hi Erin, I’m excited with the new parade, I’ve seen the one from Hongkong and is impressive. Also is great it will feature new theme floats, like the original drum and Frozen. Are there any chance we get to see a Tangled themed float? (If not from the get go, perhaps later in the year). I think this float will be perfect in this parade with a scene of the floating lights going up and down. Keep up the good work and thanks for the info in this blog.

  • WOW!!! It looks so good! I saw on the news that a mysterious package has been delivered to the Disneyland Resort. To me it looked like a float of a ship and parts of it were covered in aluminum foil. I think it might be the new Peter Pan unit in the PAINT THE NIGHT Parade. Is this true? Please tell me ASAP. I am so excited for the Disneyland Diamond Celebration!!!!!!

  • Personally I’m most excited about Paint the Night! Especially the new unique floats / characters – Peter Pan, Tangled, Frozen! Can’t wait.

  • Paint the Night looks so awesome! The music is great too. It’s sure to be a crowd pleaser.

  • I can’t wait for this summer, 2015 is shaping up to be the best year ever from Disney entertainment between Cinderella which already came out, next up Avengers: Age of Ultron, Tomorrowland, the Disneyland Diamond Celebration, Ant-Man, Inside Out, and to cap off the year with Star Wars VII it can’t get any more exciting

  • I just wish we knew if these special entertainment opportunities would be exclusive to the peak summer season or will last beyond. Not having even a general idea is making travel plans a bit diffucult.

    • Ricky – While an end date has not yet been announced, I can tell you that the Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration will continue past the summer.

  • It is interesting that all the graphic work, logos and merchandise feature blues, whites and silvers as the colors of the Diamond Celebration. They even shows Mickey and Minnie in blue outfits. Yet, Mickey and Minnie’s actual outfits are RED. Hopefully this branding mistake gets fixed.

  • I “Like” this.

  • I’m really liking all these previews of the Diamond celebration! Keep it up! 😀
