A Unique Point of View: ‘Storytellers’ Statue at Disney California Adventure Park

I love the “Storytellers” statue on Buena Vista Street at Disney California Adventure park. You can walk right up and stand beside a young Walt Disney and his pal, Mickey Mouse, as if they’re just two more dreamers making their way around 1920s Los Angeles.

This point of view is so great – it’s like you’re listening over their shoulder as they make plans for their future together. What do you think these new friends might be saying to each other?

Comments

  • “Hope Uncle Robert has room for us.”

  • Walt: “What do you think of LA Mortimer?”
Mickey: “Gee pal, I think Lilly was right – Mickey is better!”

  • Can we take a rest? This luggage feels like brass.

  • “Well Oswald, we’re finally here!”
“For the last time, I’m Mickey…”

  • “Alright Mickey, lunch is on me, right there at Carthay Circle Restaurant, then I need you to feature in this little cartoon I thought up called Steamboat Willie… Whatdaya say?”
