Last week, we hosted Thomas Lyons and his family, from Manhattan Beach, Calif. – winner of one of the prizes being awarded during Disneyland Diamond Days! In the video below, join Thomas, his wife Faith and daughters Grace and Phoebe as they enjoy their last Disneyland Resort visit before Grace and Phoebe head to college this semester. The visit was made extra special with their prize package, which included a three-day, two-night Disneyland Resort vacation and an exclusive tour of Disney California Adventure park before the park opened for the day, capped off with a special ride in the Red Car Trolley with Mickey Mouse.

  • As I read the rules, you have to be on DLR property before 11 am to win the daily prize. I enter every day, but I shoot for the weekly prize, as I’m in San Diego and can’t be on property every day, even when I do go, before 11 am. Also, these prizes seem confusing to me – what if I’ve already paid for a hotel room or full vacation and then win something like this. How does that benefit me unless I’m allowed to use it for a future trip.

  • Hi Christopher! You can always check for the word of the day online instead of waiting til you walk through bag check.

  • I agree with Christopher. I liked the 40th Anniversary year when everyone who walked through a turnstyle into the park had a chance to win, no matter the time of day you arrived. Most winners will be those who don’t work or those from out of state who are on vacation.

  • Not everyone is physically able to get there before 11 AM, it would be nice for those of us that are unable to do so to be able to get entered into the daily sweepstakes, especially when the parks are open late.
