She was a pampered pooch. He was a mutt from the hard scrabble streets. They fell in love, and their romance endured through to a happy ending and their own family.

Of course, I’m talking about Lady and Tramp, from the Disney classic movie, “Lady and the Tramp.” Their topiary forms are popular mainstays of the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival. Here’s a behind-the-scenes look of the pasta-sharing pups backstage before this year’s festivities:

I love how our horticulture artists captured Tramp glancing happily at Lady, while she demures. You can find the canine couple – where else? – at the Italy Pavilion in Epcot in a few weeks, starting March 2 during the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival. They’ll be there for 90 days, along with the Outdoor Kitchens, play areas, and illuminated gardens. The Garden Rocks concerts are just a World Showcase country away, at the America Gardens Theatre.

We’ll have more about the upcoming Festival soon. In the meantime, we know that spaghetti and meatballs was the candlelight dinner for this blossoming puppy love. What’s your favorite Disney Parks meal with your special someone?

  • Where can I pick up my license to nerd? Desperately in need, as much as I am to see this in person. So excited!
