Moms Panel Monday: Spa Recreation at Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts

There is so much to do at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort, and in today’s Moms Panel Monday post, we are focusing on the fun that can be had outside of our theme parks. From outdoor recreation, to shopping and spas, our panelists are happy to offer up creative suggestions for an unforgettable trip!

Kathy assists a guest who is looking for something special for her 12-year-old daughter to do while her younger siblings are experiencing Bibbidi Bobbity Boutique. While a tween can certainly still partake in a royal makeover at Bibbidi Bobbity Boutique, our guest was looking for something unique just for her big kid. Kathy has some great suggestions!

Disneyland specialist Emily helps a guest who is planning a kid-free girls’ trip with a dear friend to Disneyland Resort. Savoring an upscale meal at the elegant Napa Rose, and spa treatments at Mandara Spa at Disney’s Grand Californian Resort & Spa are a couple of Emily’s recommendations.

Another guest visiting Walt Disney World Resort from Texas and staying at Fort Wilderness campground is wondering about “lesser known” activities on property. Panelist Jane shares a roundup of exciting outdoor activities that will really get the entire family moving, such as an archery experience and Segway tours around property.

  • After visiting some really nice spas I was a little surprised (and not in a good way) by Mandara Spa. It’s tiny and has fewer amenities than other comparable spas. I think Disney needs to invest more time and money into this spa to bring it up to par with the rest of the Grand Californian experience.

  • I just booked manicures and pedicures for my 11 and 9-year-old girls at Senses – A Disney Spa at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort for Spring Break. They have gotten the Fairy Godmother-in-training treatment at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique for the past several years but the tween wanted to do something different this year. We are so excited to try this new experience!
