Are you one of the many guests that are entranced with the appearance of the Headless Horseman at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom Park? Many party attendees – myself included – line up early with their smartphones at the ready, just to snap a pic as the Horseman and his mysterious dark steed clip-clop down Main Street, U.S.A., before “Mickey’s Boo To You” parade.

If you’re a brave soul who can’t get enough of the Horseman, the “Return to Sleepy Hollow” offering at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground may be your perfect idea of fall fun.

‘Return To Sleepy Hollow’

The “Return to Sleepy Hollow” offering includes a group viewing of the 1949 Disney animated classic film “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” inside the resort’s historic Tri-Circle-D Ranch stables. While the stables are usually open to guests year-round, on nights like these they should watch for galloping ghosts and be ready for an up close and personal encounter with the Headless Horseman.

  • Do you know when the tickets for this event will go on sale in 2018? Would love to go this year!

  • I’m replying to @Traci above.
We attended event Saturday, and it was held in horse stables at Fort Wilderness (under cover). If it were raining, (and it was indeed a downpour last night!), you would be under cover once you got to the horse stables.
My family loved the event so much, hope you have a great time!

  • What Happens if it storms? We have reservations and it’s calling for bad weather. Thanks.

  • I’m so bummed – when we called for the difference between the two prices, , they said they weren’t sure but they thought it was just “a bag of candy”. The lunch bags are SO awesome – if that info was available to the booking agents, we totally would have booked the premium package instead. Disney Details are always important. I wish I could buy a lunch bag. Still SO excited tho! The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is my favorite!

  • We attended the 10:00 show on October 1st. It was the highlight of our trip. I loved every second of it. The limited crowd and space made it so much spookier.

  • I just went to the meet and greet tonight and loved it! I would absolutely love to be able to ride as the headless horseman in the MNSSHP parade, but since that can’t happen this is the next best thing!!! Thank you Disney!!!

  • We went last night, and absolutely LOVED it! Premium was totally worth it, and we’d do it again.

  • This was first announced in March, and we booked it at the 180 day mark because I figured it would be popular. Going on 10/1 and looking forward to it!

  • I booked this for the 29th of October a couple months ago. Wanted something to celebrate Halloween w/o the cost of MNSSHP. This is the perfect event – looking forward to it.

  • I just called and booked this for October 22. She gave me a few available dates for October.

  • I was just told by the CM on the phone that this was sold out and had been available for booking for the past 60 days…why was this announced so late?

  • How very cool. Just another awesome reason to love Disney.

  • I assume the he signs autographs, because we’re paying, right?

  • Hi,
I was really interested in the event, but was told it sold out already by WDW Tour. Can I be put on a list to be contacted if anyone cancels for any of the 8pm shows?

  • My husband was literally born in the real Sleepy Hollow – how’s that for spooky!
    Too FUN!

    • That’s crazy! Thanks for sharing.

  • We are going on the 20th too! It is my understanding that general seating also includes the photo op — we will just have to wait for the priority folks to finish theirs first. 🙂

  • I have tickets for this on October 20th for General Seating, that also includes the photo opportunity with the Headless Horseman as well, right?

    • Yes, both seating options include the photo op. PhotoPass will be available to take photos, but feel free to bring your own camera as well. 🙂
