If you’ve ever wondered when the next bus is going to arrive at your Disney Resort hotel, the answer will now be right at your fingertips.

Today, we’re rolling out a brand new bus time feature in the My Disney Experience mobile app that enables guests to spend less time waiting at the bus stop and more time getting ready for a fun-filled day in the parks. With this feature, guests can quickly discover up-to-the-minute estimates for when the next buses will depart from their Disney Resort hotel and when they will complete their journey to their destination.

The app regularly updates in real time to provide the most current estimates for buses heading to all four theme parks, two water parks and the Disney Springs area. Guests can access the feature throughout their stay by tapping “See Bus Times” when viewing an active Disney Resort hotel reservation associated with their account.

You may also notice that this My Disney Experience update brings a new and improved design to the app, making it easier than ever to navigate and find what you’re looking for – from the new bus time feature and mobile food ordering service to adding tickets, booking FastPass+ selections and discovering key park offerings.

My Disney Experience mobile app

This is just the most recent example of how Disney is using digital technology to make the guest experience even more convenient. During the past year alone, we have added app features that allow guests to view room charges, keep track of Disney dining plan usage, check in online to start their vacation even faster, use their mobile devices as a digital key (now available at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and coming soon to additional Disney Resort hotels) and more.

Guests can explore all that’s new in My Disney Experience by updating to the current version of the app, now available in the Apple Store for iOS devices and Google Play for Android devices.

And there’s more coming soon! Our teams are constantly exploring and innovating new enhancements to My Disney Experience as it continues to grow and evolve, so be sure to stay tuned to the Disney Parks Blog for the latest updates.

Comments

  • I agree with some of the above comments and wish I could tell today what time the earliest bus goes from Poly to HS for our EMM day. We’re at SOG and we’re going to walk down to Poly that morning to catch the bus. I guess we’ll ask at the front desk of Poly the night before and do things the old way. 😉

  • Good idea but not effective. We came down to the bus stop and thought, based on the posted time, that a bus would be here in 10 mins. Time passed, no bus, time updated to 3 more mins, then 5 more mins, then 7 more mins. Now we are 20 mins past the posted time and not 1 bus. Now the app says busses come every 20 mins.

  • Please add mine to the other requests to expand and show park to resort times. I am staying at All Star Sports and have 5 ADRs booked in addition to my free dining… but trusting 3rd parties for travel estimates or walking in the couple of possible places or paying for Lyfts all work hard to reduce what I am likely to $pend overall. I’m with Dave, if I can’t check from home to see approximate times, leaving 90 minutes for every single leg of travel on top of the cost… makes me want to cancel most of them. On the plus side… um nope. I just want to have my cake and eat it too 😉

  • This new feature sounds great. Can’t wait to try it out.

  • I assume this is the same as the signs at the moderate and deluxe resort bus stops. So now even guests staying at value resorts can cry when they have dining reservations in 45 minutes, and it suddenly changes to say the next bus to Magic Kingdom is coming in 45 minutes (after waiting for at least 15 minutes already). Sometimes ignorance is bliss. 😉

  • This sounds like it will be useful, but why only for guests with resort reservations? My family often chooses to leave a park for a meal at a resort restaurant. Since you clearly have the technology to share bus information, why limit it to hotel guests getting *to* the parks?

  • I feel it’s short sighted to force this feature to only be available on existing stays at resorts.

I admit I have always been a driver, but I MIGHT consider one day trying to go the bus route, but ONLY if I could from time to time casually look to see how it goes at random times BEFORE I am actually on a trip.

Keeping this information a “secret” until we are actually on a trip is not helping me possibly try buses one day. (then again, with the new “add on” parking fees that were introduced in March, my on site days may be numbered anyway, but that is a separate issue).

  • When I click on my hotel it says “Information About This Resort Hotel Is Not Currently Available” . Then at the bottom it says, “Please Return Later We’re experiencing trouble loading this screen.” But this message never changes. So I don’t see any bus info. I am going to AK tomorrow for EMH guess I better get a voucher in case this is a glitch that might affect my Magic band.

  • Hi there,
Love this option, just updated my app.
I was wondering is this feature only engaged when you are physically at Walt Disney World as I am not there now and do not see the feature available?
    Thanks.

  • Already done this twice.

  • Looking for fun for family reunion
    .

  • This is definitely a great added feature! Can Disney also look into improving the WiFi at the resorts, parks and Disney Springs? It would be great to include times at Disney Springs so we can see when the bus will be arriving and departing back to the resorts.

  • I just updated and didn’t see the bus information.

  • I’ve just updated the My Disney Experience App and followed the directions on how to access ride times, but this option is not there. Is this for both iOS and Android? Do you have to be on-site for this to work?

    • Yes, the feature is available for both iOS and Android. After logging into your My Disney Experience account, you’ll be able to access it throughout your Disney Resort hotel stay beginning on your check-in date. Hope this helps!

  • This is a fantastic feature that will save a lot of time and running to bus stops! I look forward to using this on our next Disney vacation!

  • OMG!!! It’s about time!!! Now if you can only do the buses going back to the resorts. The last time I was at a Disney Springs bus stop for over 40 min waiting for a bus to get back to the hotel. Maybe add a button that lets buses know that people are waiting. Now THAT would be amazing!!!

  • Very cool! To be clear, it sounds like this new feature (currently) only covers buses going *from* resort hotels and *to* the parks and the Springs? If so, are there plans to expand this feature to eventually include buses going back to the resort hotels?

    • We’re excited as well, Andrew! You’re correct – this new feature currently only lists estimated times for buses departing from Disney Resort hotels to the parks and the Disney Springs area. That being said, we’re always looking for new ways to enhance the app and will pass along your comment to our Digital Guest Experience team.
