  • i saw illuminations years ago when i was a kid. it was the best part of our WDW trip, and i remember going multiple times to watch it. years later in 2017, i went back to WDW and was super stoked to watch illuminations again, only to have it be canceled due to inclement weather. 🙁 i’m going back this summer, and i am sooooo glad i have one last opportunity to see it in person. rain and winds….stay away!

  • I’ve been going to Disney World my entire life, but my husband Justin’s first trip ever was in 2015. We were supposed to meet my sister and her husband in Mexico at the end of IllumiNations to leave the park together, but Justin and I were having so muh fun exploring that we lost track of time. We were back around Japan when the show started, so I got to experience the show in a way I never had before. We walked through the entire thing so we could be in Mexico by the end. It was the BEST. Not only did we get to see it from different angles, but we got to see cast members having the time of their lives toward the end of their work day. One guy in America was acting like he was conducting an orchestra. A couple of ladies in another country, I can’t for the life of me remember which, were dancing. It was almost better than the show itself seeing these employees just letting loose and having fun during the show, and it was one of our favorite moments of the entire trip. We haven’t been there since that trip, and we won’t be back until early October, so I’m sad that we won’t get to see this show again. Looking forward to the new show though!

  • How do you purchase the commemorative poster for ROE?

  • A few years ago, my sister was supposed to get married at Disney and the wedding was called off as we were all arriving. (The groom was not very nice to my sister, so in the long run this was for the best). Since our family was already there, we went ahead with the activities planned as a celebration of our family. One of the planned events was a private dessert/wine party viewing of Illuminations right after what should have been the ceremony.
I was so worried for my sister. She said she wanted to go ahead with all the plans and still celebrate family, but when the actual activities happened, would she be okay?
Well, let me say, Disney handled the sudden change like pros and the revamped “family celebration” was spectacular.
My greatest memory is looking over at my sister in the middle of Illuminations and seeing the biggest smile on her face. I knew then she was going to be all right.
Two years later, my sister did meet her Mr. Right. We took a trip to Disney with him about a year ago, and it was a blast!

  • My love of Illuminations started in 2000 with the Millennial celebration. I was there with my ex-husband and his grandchildren (for their first trip to Disney) who were mesmerized watching it. I remember them saying how magical it was. On that trip I bought the CD of the show and I listen to it often including my favorite song We Go On. Every time I hear that song it brings tears to my eyes. I am fortunate to be able to see Illuminations again on my next trip and I will treasure that moment!

  • I have been watching this for the past twenty years. All three of my children have watched me cry every single time. Now my son is getting married November 9 and “Illuminations” was our family tradion forever. I am praying I find a way to get there one last time before the wedding to experience this as a family.. Watching Illuminations is watching my children being born, seeing them as tiddlers running around world showcase, remembering my mom and dad and all of the memories…sons on shoulders.. it’s my youngest daughter in her Cinderella gown..and it’s hubby and me sneaking a smooch. And tears..goid tears..happy tears…sad tears… Thank you for going Live! We watched as a family..with tissues..and memories..and a BIG group hug at the finish. We will miss you…but just like every day….”We go on….” Thanks for the never-ending magic. ..Diane

  • My favourite memories were of serving popcorn to guests at the Canadian popcorn cart, and having the fireworks going off only feet behind me. Being able to name the colour sequence was an added bonus 🙂 These fireworks will be missed, but cant wait for the new show!

  • This was just amazing, thank you 😊 so much WDW for this gift!

  • I have visited Epcot too many times to keep track of with my 2 boys (and my now ex- husband). We would watch over near France & the UK bridge every time. We were even there one year for New Years. I would ALWAYS get goose bumps listening to the music and watching the spectacular lights and fireworks. I will cherish those memories of Reflections of Earth & I am looking forward to a new show.

  • Just watched this with my daughter. We are surprising my kids with trip sept28 to oct4 !! I told hubby we have to park hop to see illuminations and new show!!

  • Beautiful as ever.

  • #KellieCoffey is fantastic! Her voice has played every night some January 1, 2000, carrying the. illuminations message!! She is an incredible performer, wonderful mother and awesome sister!! Love you Kellie!!!

  • My family is currently watching our favorite firework show from 3 different cities. Say hello to the family from Lakewood, Chico, and Grass Valley California! Wish we were there on Sept. 30th!

  • I experienced the current Illuminations show for the first time in 2001. I got to see it again in 2015 on my honeymoon with my wife and again when we were back in 2017. In 2015 enjoying it with desert from Morocco, 2017 from Mexico. It always brings back great memories and I’m looking forward to seeing what the future will bring. Watching the live stream from York, Pennsylvania.

  • Epcot is our dad’s favourite park. Today is his birthday, he turns 60 years old. Watching Illiminations with him today is an excellent gift for us.

  • Will the window for this presentation be any larger when the festivities begin?

  • Illuminations takes my breath away! The music is inspirational and the show is fantastic!

  • Proposing to my bow wife while watching illuminations! And then hosting an illuminations dessert party after our wedding!

  • Proposing to my now wife during illuminations from our viewing area near Canada! Then hosting an illuminations dessert party following our wedding reception! No nighttime show can compare!

  • I first saw IllumiNations in 2006 when I was just 7 years old. I don’t remember the show so much as the context surrounding it. I sat at the lagoon with my mother as we waited for my father and sister to return from their ride on Maelstrom so we could all watch together. Being with my family and watching is one of my fondest memories of that trip. My sister is unfortunately no longer with us, so these memories of watching shows like this are very important to me.

  • Will there be a DVD made available at some point that includes this (or a similar) video, along with some historical information about Illuminations? Is there any video of previous versions of the show? Some of us have been watching Illuminations since the very earliest EPCOT days.

  • Saw in person for the last time a week ago yesterday. I have probably seen 50 times over the years and it is still excellent. My favorite memory is from 2005 when we brought our 3 kids to see the show for the first time. It was the first Disney night time show they had seen. I will never forget the looks of amazement on those children’s faces. Absolutely wonderful.

  • Can I watch it from Brazil?

  • Where is the link for the live stream tonight?

    • Just return to this post – we will update it with the video when we are live.

  • Illuminations is simply beautiful! I love the way you can watch it in the country of your choosing and be completely delighted with your choice. My favorite memory of Illuminations is from 2006 when my wife and I took a honeymoon cruise to watch the show! Seeing it reflecting in my true loves eyes will always be the best!

  • I saw/heard Illuminations: Reflections of Earth well over a hundred times when I worked in WDW as a College Program Intern. I have sweet memories of tired nights when my cheeks were numb from smiling, cold hands inside fluffy Tigger or Stitch paws, doling our high-fives to satisfies children with stars still in their eyes from that wonderful show. I remember fighting to work in the International Gateway so I could be closer and see more of the fireworks than just what peeked over Spaceship Earth, and so I could see when the countries began to dance during the show (my favorite part!) Also from there you can see the top of whatever fireworks happened to be going off in Hollywood Studios—double the magic!
This show has extra special sweetness for me because the last time I saw it in person was in August, when I made a spur-of-the-moment girls’ trip with my two best friends, and we got FastPass for Illuminations, something I had never done before. My phone still has the pictures on it from that trip, since I didn’t know if I’d ever see it in person again and wanted to savor every moment.
Although like many others I can’t wait to see what the Mouse and his magical friends cook up next, it is bittersweet to say goodbye to a show that has brought me so much joy after so many long hours, and has inspired hope and tears of sentiment when I thought I was too tired to feel either.

    • What a great story! Thanks for sharing.

  • Yes it will taped to YouTube

  • Illuminations is a favorite of my family, every trip it’s a nighttime experience that we just can’t miss! On our last trip we were able to enjoy the show for the first time with our granddaughter and it was awesome. My family and I really appreciate the fine work of the Disney Parks Blog site and especially Jennifer Fickley-Baker(Walt Disney World Resort is our main Disney destination). You keep us up to date on all things Disney and give us a little taste of Disney with your updates, article and Live Stream events. For that we thank you. Keep up the excellent work!!

    • Thanks so much, Dan! We love bringing these live events to all of you!

  • Just like so many added this show has such special place in my heart and it’s my favorite show. I’m so upset to see it go.Thank you for streaming as it seems impossible for me to get down there to see it in person one last time.

  • Thank you for live streaming Illunimations for those of us who would love to see it one last time! I’m excited about seeing the new show later this year, but Illuminations holds very special memories for my family and many other Epcot fans!

  • Illuminations: RoE came into my life when I needed it so badly. I will miss it so much but I get to see it one more time in August! We go on…

    • I hope you enjoy your trip!

  • Illuminations will remain my favorite. I recorded the entire event from the front row in the FastPass section in 2016. I watch it often. It is a favorite. Can’t wait to see “what’s next!”

    • 🙂

  • Illuminations is much to me. It’s my favorite Nighttime Entertainment and I will miss it. And I hope this one will be awesome. My favorite song is “We go On!” I always love that song and cry and Think of the Future.

    • That song gives me chills, too!

  • Hands down my favorite night time show at WDW. The story is inspiring, the message so important: we can accomplish anything together!

I’ve walked the back of EPCOT as the park empties listening to the soaring musical soundtrack. “……..dreaming as we learn to love every day. PROMISE you will take my hand as tomorrow comes, we’ll go on!” So inspiring!

Everything about the show touches you. I understand Disney needs to change and stay current. At the same time, I am very sad the show is being sunset. I’ll be back before she goes for one last personal farewell.

  • I am also curious about the recording… Would love for my daughter to see it, but 8:55 pm is too late for her to catch at both home and live (we went twice last year and she couldn’t stay up either time…).

    • The full show will be immediately available to replay.

  • Illuminations has always been my son, Jordan’s, favorite nighttime experience at any Disney Park.
It has always been a “must do” every trip. We are so sad that Illuminations is ending. Hopefully, we will be able to see it at least once more.

  • Any chance the Livestream will be recorded to YouTube to catch after?

  • Oh where to even begin! Illuminations means so much to me. As a kid it was always my favorite show, and it has become such a big part of me and my husbands relationship, as we got engaged before the show and had our reception during the show. The music, fireworks, lasers, and meaning behind the show will always hold a special place in my heart. We Go On.
