We’re excited to share that Buena Vista Street opens Nov. 19, extending the Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort with more Disney shopping and dining experiences. Discover new and returning favorite menu items plus holiday gifts and apparel, and stay tuned for more holiday happenings!

Here’s a peek at what you can expect beginning Nov. 19:

Carthay Circle Restaurant, known for its upscale cuisine, is introducing Carthay Circle Lounge – Alfresco Dining, a new outdoor dining environment and menu featuring Mediterranean-California light fare, with small plates that can be shared or enjoyed separately at Carthay Circle Lounge. The seasonal menu created by Chefs Andrew Sutton and Alex Flores will feature the Carthay shrimp roll, harissa-roasted lamb, soy-glazed salmon, lemon-crusted fish of the day and an artisan cheese board. Kids will find menu options just for them, including orecchiette pasta with marinara and orange dragon chicken skewers. Relax and step back in time at this throwback venue that boasts distinct attention to detail. Unwind with flavorful, international fare and a glass of wine, craft beers or a cool cocktail, enjoying expanded outdoor seating and amazing views of Buena Vista Street.

On another corner, stop by Fiddler, Fifer & Practical Cafe for a yummy hot chocolate and a cranberry orange scone. Or, place your mobile order for corn dogs or soft drinks at Award Wieners, or for Smokejumpers Grill, serving bacon cheeseburgers, chicken tenders, onion rings, waffle fries, kids’ meals, and vanilla and chocolate shakes.

Along Buena Vista Street, Disney magic brings a nostalgic throwback to the 1920s and ’30s. The boulevard depicts a typical Los Angeles neighborhood where a young Walt Disney lived and worked after arriving in Southern California in 1923. This idyllic setting captures the quaint “mom-and-pop” shops of the time and a big-city department store including Elias & Co., Julius Katz & Sons, Kingswell Camera Shop and Trolley Treats, where you can find unique Disney apparel and gifts.

Beginning Nov. 19, there will be a $10 fee per car for parking at the Downtown Disney District in the Simba Lot. The number of guests visiting the Downtown Disney District and its locations, including the shopping and dining experiences along Buena Vista Street, will be limited to promote physical distancing. We may at times use the mobile wait list system when Buena Vista Street and/or its queue are at capacity, similar to the process at some retail locations in the Downtown Disney District. Disney California Adventure Park is currently closed.

If you haven’t visited the Downtown Disney District lately, be sure to visit Disneyland.com/DTD to learn important information about updated experiences and other details including our health and safety measures such as the requirement for all guests, ages 2 and older, to wear a face covering.

We look forward to welcoming you back to Buena Vista Street at the Downtown Disney District!

  • I’m going on Saturday at 11 am and I was wondering if they were going to stop letting people in at that time let me know because me and my friend are going on that day

  • Yes – parking has been free since they recently opened downtown Disney during the pandemic. We just went 2 weeks ago and parking was free, no matter how long you stayed, and no validation. That’s why people that have been going are confused with the new $10 parking fee. The lines to get in however have been around 90+ minutes so hopefully this helps with the long lines just to get into downtown Disney since it’s such reduced capacity.

  • Just heard Earl of Sandwich is closing. The Starbucks West is already closed. Anyone know what the plans are for DTD West end?

  • Why do people here keeping saying DTD parking was never free. That’s simply not true. It used to be free parking for 2 hours and then later on you had to buy something to get hours free.

  • Can we book reservations on the Disneyland app?

  • Will there be Christmas Decorations to take pics ?

  • Is the menu fully updated for Carthay Circle Lounge? I see some of the new items been added so far..

  • DTD has always charged for parking. You had to buy something worth $20 just to get 3 hours free before covid hit, Ben. NO AP’s do not park for free in DTD parking, they never have, so save the energy of trying to show the parking attendant your pass, Beth. $10 isn’t as bad as it could be btw, they could charging $25 that the other lots charge.

You didn’t pay for the parking perk on your pass, Laura, you paid a lot for your pass that happens to have an added benefit. If you don’t like the parking fee don’t go!

As far as the menu goes for the lounge at Carthay, it’s just a lounge menu, not the main restaurant menu hence why there is no Duck Wings, Fried Biscuits, Tenderloin, or Burger (talking to you Danny).

No Nathan the Grand Californian will not be open anytime soon.

  • Is the security at the other end open so that ride share drop offs can enter there?

  • Even for those of us with Signature or Signature Plus APs, DTD parking has never been free. I think the $10 is reasonable. Plus, for families who have never been able to experience this part of DCA without paying full park admission it is a bargain. Disney has also still been allowing food and merch at discounts with our AP so it almost evens out.

  • Looked at the menu and saw there were no Duck Wings, Fried Biscuits, Tenderloin, or Burger. Please bring back these items. It isn’t the Carthay Circle without them!

  • Can’t wait!!! Super excited !! all these months with Disneyland and DCA being closed has saved me $$ so I don’t mind the parking fee!

  • When can we begin making Carthay reservations?

  • For those complaining about $10 parking…stay home…It’s literally just $10🤦🏻‍♀️

I’m just excited to walk into CA Adventure!

I’m currently at the FL parks and I still don’t understand why DL is not open!

  • Yes will we be able to use our pass for parking? If not it’s ok just to touch my feet inside the gates is worth it so elated❤❤❤❤

  • I’m am soo excited!! When can we start making reservations for Carthay Circle??

  • A) visiting from Seattle and would love to book a couple of rooms for a few nights at Grand Californian with my family- they all need their Disney fix! Will it be opening any time soon? B) will downtown Disney and buena vista street be decorated with holiday decor?!

  • Will you honor my parking that is on my pass

  • So excited! Can we get more info on making reservations for Carthay? Hope to see you soon!

    • We are excited about this new offering as well! Additional details on Carthay Circle Lounge – Alfresco Dining will be shared soon. Keep your eye on the Blog for updates!

  • I just passed by DTD and I can see some type of validation might be available… can you elaborate on how validation will be done?

    • Great question. Beginning Nov. 19, there will be a daily parking rate of $10 per car with no validation at the Simba Parking Lot.

  • Will Signature annual pass holders need to pay for parking and will reservations be open for Carthy circle lounge?

  • There has never been an absolutely required fee to park at DTD. There used to be x number of hours free. That was replaced with x number of hours free with validation. Now it’s just an outright fee. For a mall.

  • Downtown Disney has always charged for parking. The parks are not open and you are not being charged for your pass at the moment if you choose extension. You sound very entitled.

  • Will signature APs still have to pay for parking?
Will there be reservations available for Carthay lounge?

  • Hi! When will Carthay reservations be open?

  • How can we make reservations at Carthay Cricle?

  • Are reservations available for the restaurants?

  • $10 to shop at Downtown Disney. That’s unfortunate. Guess my DTD experiences are over for now.

  • Not cool on the parking fee. What about those of us with Signature Plus? We paid a lot for the parking perk and should at least be able to use it.
