I’m delighted to announce we are holding special preview days for the new Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition on August 28-29 at Once Upon a Toy in Downtown Disney Marketplace at Walt Disney World Resort. This all day event will give guests a first opportunity to see and play Disney Infinity 3.0 before its official release date on August 30.

Throughout the day, guests will be able to play Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition at the location. I know my son and I can’t wait as there are several new figures including Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and characters from
Disney•Pixar’s
Inside Out.” I’m most excited about the Sam Flynn and Quorra figures from “TRON: Legacy.” I’m also looking forward to trying the “Tomorrowland” Power Disc Pack as I loved the film!

Finally, guests will have an opportunity to meet a few individuals involved with the game’s development. Special guests will include:

  • Senior Producer Ryan Rothenberger who has worked on the Disney Infinity franchise since the very beginning. Currently, he is the Game Director overseeing the creation and development of all new heroic Play Sets for Disney Infinity 3.0.
  • Senior Producer Michael Schneider who oversees the development and execution of the console versions of Disney Infinity and helps make sure the game launches on time worldwide.
  • Associate Producer David Mayernik who has been with the Disney Infinity team since the first game where he held the position of Product Support Specialist. Here he worked as a liaison between the Guest Experience Support Team and Production.

First Look at Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend 2015 Merchandise

posted on August 27th, 2015 by Michelle Harker, Manager, Merchandise Marketing & Communications, Disneyland Resort

Will you be joining us this year for the Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend presented by Cigna, taking place September 3-6, 2015, at the Disneyland Resort? Can you believe it’s been “Ten Years Running”? If you’re curious as to what merchandise awaits you for the races, wait no longer. Here’s your first look!

Sought-after items this year include the Disneyland Half Marathon merchandise, performance tees, jackets and tanks. Of course, the ever-popular mens’ and ladies’ tees emblazoned with the “I Did It” message on it and course map on the back continue to be fan favorites.

I triple-dare you not to fall in love with the Dumbo Double Dare collection. My heart soars just thinking about it. You’ll find plenty of themed merchandise, including men’s and ladies’ tees with Dumbo Double Dare and “Fly to the Finish” logos on it along with a tank, jackets and car magnets.

hmffi848482

We’re not finished quite yet! Look for an additional “I Did It” tee to debut for the Disneyland 5K, along with a Disneyland 10K tee featuring Captain Hook, Hades and Maleficent. If you can’t decide, and it’s an all-inclusive Half Marathon Weekend tee you seek – don’t worry, we’ve got it!

hmffi848483

Some of you may have already seen this, but for you Dooney & Bourke and race fans that haven’t, here’s a look at the pattern that will appear on several silhouettes including a cross-body, tote and wristlet. Are you planning to add this to your collection? Now’s your chance to secure a piece of the magic! Pre-order your Dooney & Bourke bag prior to August 28, while supplies last. Purchase today!

Finally, you know when it comes to runDisney merchandise it doesn’t stop there. Look for additional items themed to the Disneyland Half Marathon, runDisney, as well as 2015 runDisney Coast to Coast Race Challenge offerings.

Good Luck!

It’s Almost Time for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom Park

posted on August 27th, 2015 by Shawn Slater, Communications Manager, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Creative Entertainment

Summer’s winding down. The kids are back in school. What are we going to do next? Plan for Halloween, of course! It’s almost time for one of my favorite seasons of the year – and my absolute favorite Disney event, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party!

Boo to You Parade!

This year, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will feature new eerie entertainment as well as returning favorite experiences throughout Magic Kingdom Park.

The big news is “Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular,” the all-new show at Cinderella Castle, featuring the Disney villains. In the show, those mischievous Sanderson Sisters from Disney’s “Hocus Pocus” visit the mortal world during the Halloween season. The three sisters decide to use their magic to throw the best, evil Halloween party this side of the graveyard, calling upon Disney villains like Dr. Facilier, Oogie Boogie, Maleficent and more!

During Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, you can dress in costume, go trick-or-treating throughout the park and meet some of your favorite Disney characters, including all Seven Dwarfs appearing in one place in Fantasyland. Look for new greeting areas around Storybook Circus this year, featuring appearances by Jack and Sally from Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas” and others. You may even come across some Disney villains. Look for the Queen of Hearts near Mad Tea Party, Gaston outside Gaston’s Tavern (where else?!) and Lotso over in Tomorrowland.

Phineas and Ferb Bust a Move with the Creepa Crew

Don’t forget about Mickey’s “Boo to You” Halloween Parade, running twice nightly, and “Happy HalloWishes,” one of the most impressive fireworks spectaculars ever to fill the skies above Cinderella Castle (and around the whole park, for that matter)!

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a special event, separate from regular Magic Kingdom Park admission. Tickets are still available for most event nights September 15 through November 1. Be sure to get yours early, so your Halloween can be more treat than trick!
