Is there anything sweeter than the kick-off to the Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration? In my case, yes! There are dazzling and delectable new confections debuting in the candy kitchens at the Disneyland Resort, and I have all the details!
These stunning Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse apples are enrobed in caramel, dipped in chocolate and have been dusted in sparkling blue sanding sugar. With final touches of chocolate “gem” buttons and a diamond-shaped bow for Minnie Mouse, these two never looked so delicious.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a celebration without some of our other fan favorites like the marshmallow wand, krispy treat and the ever-popular cake pops, all of which were inspired by the Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration sparkling blue and silver tone theme. The candy makers didn’t stop there, so be sure to keep an eye out for a special Ear Hat Cake Pop featuring a commemorative “60” chocolate lay-on.
We didn’t stop there ─ If you were hoping for something more nostalgic, you’re in luck! Chocolate-dipped caramel bars (with and without sea salt) will be available, along with the pecan roll and other delicious treats. Note: These items will only be available at Candy Palace in Disneyland park.
If you are planning to ‘sweeten’ your experience in the park today, visit Candy Palace in Disneyland park; Trolley Treats in Disney California Adventure park; and Marceline’s Confectionery in the Downtown Disney District!

Earlier today, the Disney Parks Blog team kicked off our 24-hours of fun here at the Walt Disney World Resort by hosting a special “Tomorrowland” – themed event for 500 of our readers.
The event started off bright and early at the front gate of the park, where our readers witnessed a special park opening moment, starring Anna and Elsa from “Frozen.” The group enjoyed an exclusive “Tomorrowland” – themed breakfast and photo opportunities at Cosmic Ray’s, before being shuttled to AMC Downtown Disney 24 for a screening of the film.
The all-new “Paint the Night” parade and “Disneyland Forever” fireworks open for Disneyland park guests tonight, and last night they premiered in special performances for invited fans and media. Both all-new for the Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration, they bring never-before-seen immersive technologies that light up the night and surround guests with stunning color and surprising special effects.
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Walt Disney Company Bob Iger kicked off the premiere performances last night with a special welcome on Main Street, U.S.A.
“Few companies have both a legendary past as well as a limitless future,” Iger said. “But we had the great fortune to be founded with a spirit of creativity and innovation – one that continues to define this phenomenal company, allowing us to keep moving forward to meet the future without ever losing sight of who we are and where it all started. It’s a true honor to usher in the celebration of the Disneyland Resort Diamond Anniversary as we celebrate the triumph of imagination in a place where dreams really do come true.”

Last month, my fellow Disney Parks Blog author and friend, Shannon Swanson, got a “Penny For Your Thoughts” as she took you inside the Electromechanical Shop and behind-the-scenes of the making of coin presses at the Disneyland Resort. Shannon mentioned that I would have exciting news to share, and I do ─ as part of the Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration, we are introducing sixty (60) new pressed coins themed to favorite attractions, icons and characters!
