Disney Cruise Line Exclusive Port Adventures in Atlantic Canada

posted on July 27th, 2012 by Arnaldo Zanonato, Port Adventures Manager

My favorite Disney Cruise Line Port Adventures are always the ones we design exclusively for our guests. I love the way we’re able to extend the art of Disney’s storytelling into the ports we visit, and that is especially true in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, Canada.

Check out this video to see two of the charming Port Adventures we developed in Atlantic Canada just for Disney cruisers.

Whether you choose to have tea with Alice in Wonderland, play solider for a day at the historical Citadel or join another exciting Disney Cruise Line Port Adventure, remember…when the ship’s in port, venture ashore!

Exploring Canada’s Bay of Fundy on a Disney Cruise

posted on July 20th, 2012 by Arnaldo Zanonato, Port Adventures Manager

Set between Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, shore excursions to the Bay of Fundy are a must on a Disney Cruise Line cruise to Atlantic Canada.

In this video, see the beauty of the Bay of Fundy and hear from a local guide about what you can do to enjoy all it has to offer.

Check out some of my personal recommendations for Port Adventures that allow you to experience the Bay of Fundy fully…

Bay of Fundy Whale & Wildlife Watching – Set sail on the Bay of Fundy to watch for whales like Humpbacks, the huge Finback and smaller Minke whales. You’ll also sail among islands and passages where tidal currents are strong to watch for eagles, seabirds, seals and porpoise.

Hopewell Rocks Tidal Discovery – Travel along the picturesque Fundy Coastal Drive to Hopewell Rocks, a unique coastal formation where you can experience the world’s highest tides that have carved the famous flowerpot rocks.

Ride the Rapids – On this exciting high-speed jet boat ride, you’ll get up close to one of the world’s most unique phenomena, the Reversing Falls Rapids, caused by the strong harbor currents reversing every six hours.

Adventures on the Bay of Fundy are not to be missed, so when the ship’s in port, venture ashore!

Aboard the Disney Wonder, Pixar characters like Woody, Jessie and Buzz Lightyear will visit with guests, and artists and filmmakers from Pixar Animation Studios will make special presentations, including sneak peeks of future Pixar films.

What’s more, special Port Adventures will allow you to see the best of California, and as a wine lover, one I am particularly excited about is the excursion out of San Francisco to the Lasseter Family Winery in Sonoma Valley.

Guests will explore the family’s private vineyard, owned by Nancy and John Lasseter (Chief Creative Officer of Walt Disney Animation and Pixar Animation Studios), and sample some of the unique red wine blends offered under the Lasseter label. With Nancy as your host, you will be granted exclusive behind-the-scenes access to the heart of the winery and into the vineyards to taste different grape varietals right from the vines.

In this video you’ll hear more about that maritime charm from locals and find out where you can go in the seaside provinces of Nova Scotia and New Brunswick to experience it.

If you’re planning a Disney cruise to Canada this summer, here are a few Port Adventures I recommend to enjoy first-hand the quaint fishing villages, seafaring history and mouth-watering fresh seafood…

Peggy’s Cove, Lobster Lunch & Maple – Visit Peggy’s Cove, a famous fishing village known worldwide as having one of the most photographed lighthouses. Here you’ll learn about the lobster fisheries and enjoy a delicious lobster lunch overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.

When you think of Key West, Florida, what comes to your mind? Turquoise water, world-class fishing, colorful culture, interesting history, delicious key lime pie, amazing sunsets…? The list of what this tropical paradise is known for could go on and on.

With the addition of Galveston, Texas, and Miami as new homeports, Disney Cruise Line is returning to the vibrant city of Key West on select Western Caribbean and Bahamas sailings.

Here are just a few ways you can explore the southernmost city in the continental U.S.:

Trolley, Train and Bike Tours

Sit back and relax on the Old Town Trolley or Conch Train Tour or get a little exercise on the Key Lime Island Bike Tour. All three are great ways to enjoy numerous Key West historical sites and local hot spots, including a tasting of delicious key lime treats at the world-famous Kermit’s Key Lime Pie Shoppe!

Disney Cruise Line Offers Walt Disney World Resort Port Adventures for Guests

posted on April 20th, 2012 by Arnaldo Zanonato, Port Adventures Manager

During the 8-night Disney Magic voyages from New York to the Bahamas this summer, guests are in for a special treat! Not only will they enjoy a stop at Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay, they also have the opportunity to visit Walt Disney World Resort for a day.

“Cinderella

A one-day park hopper ticket is included in each guest’s voyage, meaning they can visit not one but all four major theme parks! Even better – round trip transportation is included.

To celebrate these exciting voyages, we added exclusive experiences throughout Walt Disney World Resort for Disney Cruise Line guests, such as the VIP tours that I shared with you recently. Another one of my favorite offerings is the Illuminations Fireworks Dessert Party at Epcot, a private viewing for Disney Cruise Line guests and the perfect way to end a day filled with magic and discovery!

“IllumiNations:

With the opportunity to visit Magic Kingdom Park, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, the biggest decision guests have to make is where they will start and end their day. What would you recommend for a first-time Walt Disney World Resort visitor?
